Standing by before 0300 UT July 2 for Tony Pavick`s Canada Day special of `Pop Shop Radio`, to be in DRM via Woofferton UK on 11960. Not trying direct, as I have no DRM capability, but via remotes W1NT in NH and KU4SD in Georgia. NOTHING, until suddenly cuts on amid music at *0333. Parameters I copy down: AAC E1C240 C292 PopShop EEP Audio 11.64 kbps, MSC 16, SNR 21.0dB. It`s S9+20/25 into NH. Once it started, excellent reception, no dropouts, tho higher-fi would have been nice. Anyhow, tnx, Tony for the enjoyable show, and long live Free Canada! I made a few more specific notes for QSL.  At 0338, singing ID for CKLG. 0341 talking about Stanley Cup win in 1986. 0342 `The Consumer``. 0349, another sung ID clip. ``True North, Strong and Free``. 0351, ``158th year of Freedom``, followed immediately by ``American Woman`` song. 0353 mentions never will be 51st state. 0354 countdown and a ``Shortwave Radiogram`` which I am not set up to decode either. 0358 ``O Canada`` played by band, but 0359 audio faded out; did not note when or if the transmitter axually went off. Under the circumstances, couldn`t they have spared another minute or two? Meanwhile some discussion about this by others on the WOR iogroup after I posted ``[WOR] No Canada Day DRM -- East coast remotes not getting DRM or any signal on 11960 by 0304. Glenn`` ``Unfortunately, nothing by 0319. Those short DRM blips I think are just digital stuff; seemingly frequency hopping, so likely military. One was there just now (0320) between 11920-11930, and 12060-12070 at 0321. I'm positive nothing to do with Woofferton. I know there were a few of us really looking forward to DRM from the UK into North America. Sigh!!! This part of 25 meters seems to be owned by OTHR. Plenty of those intermittent pulses present above and below 11960. Walt`` Salmaniw, BC. ``[WOR] Problems at Woofferton 11960 -- Yes, those little blips are all over the show these days and nothing to do with broadcast DRM, though some similar sort of digital messaging system. On 11960 I've seen DRM attempt to start up at 03:00 & 03:13 but without success. A couple of brief signs of an AM carrier too. I think Woofferton has a flat battery in the DRM transmitter starter motor ? Cheers, Chris`` Mackerell, NZ ``Tony, your call worked, as there they are suddenly. Nice decode into Masset with occasional drop outs. Walt`` ``Looks like things are perking now. Nice signal here in BC. Tony`` ``Pretty awful parameters they're using though: 11.64k AAC?? Music deserves a better bit rate and AAC+ or xHE-AAC encoding. The up-side is I'm getting 100% decoding here in New Zealand. Cheers, Chris`` ``At 0340, not so great into Masset. Too many drop-outs and stuttering noted on my KiwiSDR. Tried multiple antennas, and none are giving 100% decode. I do find the edges of the DRM signal strange; instead of a solid vertical line down 11955 and 11965, it's more of a tooth-comb look, perhaps degrading the signal. Normally, Woofferton should blast into Masset, even with 80 kW DRM! Walt`` ``Received this response from Woofferton: "we had a fault with the transmitter at start of the programme and I was unable to recover it. I had to call out an engineer to attend site to restore this by making a manual switch at the site. We got the service up at 03:33 UTC, but that means we lost the first half of the programme. Everything was tested before and was working, so we need to investigate why this happened``. Tony  ``Unfortunately now, the signal is too weak to decode (SNR on screen stating 4.7 dB), so no audio (0352), besides occasional stuttering. Walt (Masset)`` Chris Mackerell in NZ decoded the SWRGs, two circular images look like 45 record labels. From Jonathan Coles: ``Signal on 11960 started late, about 0333, but was quite strong into Ottawa. Dream software reported SNR of 24dB, slowly sinking to 14dB by the end of the program. No audible drop outs. Audio bandwidth with mono aac 11.64kbps was barely 4 kHz, arguably not quite as good as good AM reception. Could we not have 10 kHz, even 8 kHz bw or stereo to demonstrate DRM's potential for superior audio? Broadcasters shouldn't sell DRM short. Thanks to Tony Pavick for putting on both Canada Day specials, but especially for this DRM broadcast. We need more DRM transmissions to North America. My setup is an AirspyHF+ with outdoor loop-on-ground antenna, gqrx v2.17.7 receiving software, piping the Raw I/Q output to Dream Radio v2.3`` Later, Tony Pavick reports: ``Re: [WOR] Problems at Woofferton 11960: In light of the problem with our DRM broadcast from Woofferton, they have offered me a repeat broadcast. Therefore I'm looking at doing the repeat at 0300 on UT Sunday {July 6}. That would be 11:00 PM Saturday on the East Coast US. This was the further response from Encompass: "Unfortunately, transmitter S91 failed to tune at the start of the transmission and tripped out with an HT fault. The Control Room operator in London attempted to remotely reset and command a re-tune the transmitter, but this failed resulting in transmitter lockout. The operator called out the standby engineer, who went to the site and brought up a cover transmitter (S92) from 03:33 UTC." Overall I do feel it was an interesting experiment. UT Sat June 28 at 0300, WTWW is still silent on 5085, a frequency missing from both FCC and HFCC A25 listings. Maybe has been deleted, whether or not funxional? Confirmed Saturday June 28 at 1600 on WRN North America stream. Also confirmed Saturday June 28 at 1730.5 on SW Radio, Germany, 6160, S8/9+5, and 3975 S8/9+5 into UTwente, marred by self-imposed hets. Much better into DL7APJ remote S9+10/15 on 6160, and about 3 words behind on 3975, S9/+15. Not confirmed the Saturday 1930v on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO. None of the closest KiwiSDRs in IL or MO are getting enough daytime signal vs noise level, altho N9AZZ at 1940 almost sounds like me. We very much miss the Warrenton MO SDR very close to Wentzville WA0RCR, apparenly closed for good. Confirmed Saturday June 28 at 1956 the 1930 on WRN North America stream, and redisconfirmed on WRMI webcast only playing music. Confirmed Saturday June 28 at 2003 the 2000 on WRN Europe stream. Also confirmed UT Sunday June 29 at 0348 about 12 minutes into so started circa 0336 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, S9+30 into Edinburgh IN SDR with some storm noise, but too much storm noise into the closer ones in IL. Also confirmed Sunday June 29 at 1900 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1322.994+, JBA S7 noisy into UTwente. Previous preacher was cut off just before for IRRS SW S/off ID. Checking WRMI skedgrids on June 29 I spot two `NEW` WOR airings, to be confirmed: Sat 2100 on 9395, Sun 2100 on 15770. And the Sat 2230 on 15770 allegedly also on 7730. WTWW Update: Hi George, Of course everyone is wondering what comes next after Brother Stair; and what the prospects are now for 5085 resuming. By tomorrow we shall be hearing something, or nothing... [Glenn to George June 30] ``Glenn, Bro. Stair will continue after July 1 for some time (unknown). The Continental engineer will be here on July 2 to hopefully fix the inability to change frequencies. Then, 5085 can return. I have been able to get #1 up on 9930 only. Transistors had to be replaced on one of the controlling cards. George McClintock 6-30-2025`` (via Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9930 & 5920, July 1 at 0129, WTWW is on *both* frequencies, so two transmitters available. 5920 is S9+30/45 of dead air at first, while 9930 is much weaker than normal, S8/S9 with TOMBS, and then BB`s canned QSY announcement airs on both of them, after which 9930 goes off and 5920 continues with music, presumed TOMBS (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WTWW update from George McClintock July 2: both transmitters are now operable, so hope to be back on 5085 including WORLD OF RADIO UT Saturdays at 0300. TOMBS? He has received no notice of cancellation on WTWW; understanding is that they will not be renewing contracts, presumably expiring on different dates at different stations. He thinx all TOM needs is WTWW which is available 24h, almost nondirexional, covering from the Caribbean to California, Canada; and Bulgaria for Europe, but not as many hours or $$ as costing at present (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9330, June 26 at 1933 check, WLCR/WBCQ is finally back on air, JBA; had been absent several chex June 25 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9330, June 28 at 0000, WBCQ ID, announcing repeat of `AAAWWW` originally March 28, 2025 - never mind, I already reported that. Sufficient into DX302 with clipon, unlike 7490 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 7570 & 7780, June 28 at 0020, these WRMIs are AWOL, while 7730, 9395, 9455, 9955 are funxional. Or rather 7570 per skedgrid now does not start until 0400 except Mondays 0100. 7780 is missing R. Free America Latina. Hope it is on UT Monday by 0030 for WOR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. At 2311 UT June 29: WRMI now has effective July 1 sked up. Basically, System E TOMBS has been replaced by `Classic Redneck Radio` - was that a one hour show? Now 24h and more. Wonder what kind of deal they got.  https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1pcIEX8kisrOPqlXHDAq6gympKUgDj0SIb96qce2kGGQ/edit?gid=0#gid=0 TOMBS is still being heard on 9930 WTWW and 9980 WWCR. (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WRMI observations UT June 30 via indoor longwire during storm: 9955 is still on at 0549; also at 0551, 9455 is S8/9+20 discussing the Hebrew Bible; then Yahweh stuff seems // on all these: 5800, 5850, 5950. At 0557 gives 877-289-2439, address in Vidalia, Louisiana, but I can`t catch a program or person name. At 0559.5 cut to `Everglades` ID, 0600 another, or same gospel huxter? with theme, but no *title* heard, // 5800, 5950, 5850 and 7570. The other two, 7730 & 7780 are too weak to evaluate. By 0626, 9955 is still  on.  System E skedgrid now shows `Classic Redneck Radio` before 0600 on 5800, 5850, 5950, 7730, 7780, 9455, 9955; and after 0600 same plus 7570. There are a few other shows on System E, E Bible Fellowship, Radio Catface International, Cult of Show, Cruisin` the Decades, World of Radio, Wavescan, Walking in Power; but overwhelmingly CRR. As of 1705 UT June 30, the Programming page is inaccessible! https://www.wrmi.net/~wrmi/index.php/programming/ ``No input file specified``! Broad search leads to this: ``Classic Redneck Radio with Rabbi William Dean aka: Brother Billy “Redneck” Dean`` with lots of podcasts. I`m having my doubts this be any improvement over Brother Scare (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)  ** U S A. 9955, July 1 at 0628, WRMI-3 hours have expanded, once again on this late, and remarkably strong S9+25/40 making me wonder if on a less southerly antenna? It`s just as strong as // 9455, S9+25/40, quite unusual. Maybe just sporadic E boost. And now providing ACI to 9960 Vanuatu. Presumed Brother Billy on `Classic Redneck Radio`, successor to Brother Scare. On and on about Yahweh (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. Incredibly the WRMI programming page, now accessible, https://www.wrmi.net/index.php/programming/ has nothing whatsoever to say about its #1 program, by transmitter-hours, successor to TOMBS, `Classic Redneck Radio`! I already searched out a bit of info about it, but who would want to listen to a Redneck going on and on about ``Yahweh`` or, ``Yahwah``!!!! Gotta say it right, or this deity`ll get you for that (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) And this on the WOR iog from Mike Barraclough: ``I just saw this on WRMI's Facebook page having done a search which came up with this discussion.  https://radiodiscussions.com/threads/overcomer-ministry-ending-radio-broadcasts.776755/page-4#post-6823877 Then came across this 2023 recording of the programme, only listened to brief sections. Started at 10 minutes, stopped when he mentioned the Jewish Mafia and then that he'd heard that whoever he thinks is controlling the country had identified 40 locations for concentration camps in Massachusetts. Other short sections I listened to were similar with this lady agreeing with him or adding to the discussion. https://archive.org/details/classic-redneck-radio.-wed.-2023-10-05-t-04-17-20-z-5950.0k-hz There's plenty of episodes of Classic Redneck Radio on BBS linked to in the discussion I posted and on other podcast sites. Mike Barraclough`` (via Glenn Hauser, WOR) ** U S A. 9955, July 2 at 0626, WRMI-3 back to usual lower signal, S7/S9 direct compared to 9455 S9+10/20 with ``live`` broadcast of `Classical Redneck Radio`, not QRMing Vanuatu 9960 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 15770, July 2 at 1955, WRMI now carrying R. Martí, S8/S9 into Maryland SDR; still aimed NE, instead of toward Cuba? Peter Hansen just pointed this out on the WRMI skedgrid for System C, M-F at 1930-2000. Reading point by point a memorandum signed by Drumpf. Also shows R. Liberty in Russian on 15770 System K, M-F 0400-0430 - or is it -0500, a blank field (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 4840, 5935, 7520, June 28 at 0024, all these WWCRs are off, tho supposedly on after 0000 per own websked. Something`s notright at Nashville. I spot an intriguing title on the sked, but can`t find anything more about it, maybe not gospel huxter? `Air and Wave Radio Show` with Cal Man Dan, 24 hours later, UT Sunday 0000-0030 on 4840; check it out? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 12160, Sat June 28 at 1509, WWCR-2 S9+20, awful scratchy modulation as gospel huxter recites a bunch of mostly AM stations and times, presumably his own schedule. WWCR sked shows it`s `The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith` with S.C. Johnson (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 4840, UT Sun June 29 at 0000, WWCR-3 has just come on air, with `Air & Wave Radio Show`. Turns out ``Cal Man Dan`` is obsessed with gun rights, such as court ruling on whether bumpstock makes a gun a machinegun; episode #32. Ho hum (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9680, June 29 at 0608, JBA signal direct, 2 x 4840 WWCR. Normally I would have ignored this as just another carrier from China but can almost/just barely make match to 4840 modulation on another receiver. Whatever its other deficiencies, harmonicism is a rarity from WWCR. First time I`ve ever heard this harmonic, checked now since reported in WOR iog: ``0315, 9680 kHz Hearing WWCR with several IDs in religious programming. David Ross, Hamilton, ON`` - ``Likewise. I've been hearing them on this frequency for the past week or so. John VE3CXB`` Hudak, ON ``Checking 9680 around 0430 UT June 29 I could hear an extremely weak WWCR 4840 second harmonic on 9680. 24 hours earlier (before I saw this thread) I found English language religion on 9680 at fair level, but didn’t stick around to find out who it was. Voice of Hope Africa {Zambia} had English on 9680 at this time during B-24, but A-25 registrations show no morning broadcasts. VOH website schedules appear to be from B-24. The 4840 transmitter is the same one used on 13845 during the day, but at a check around 1500 UT June 29 I am not hearing anything on potential second harmonic 27690. Stephen Luce, Houston, Texas`` So I multiply all the currently active WWCR frequencies, for a full list of possible harmonix; some of them land within other broadcast bands, others should stand out in OOB ranges if propagating. Of course the higher orders/multiples are less and less likely: 4840: 9680, 14520, 19360, 24200, 29040 5890: 11780, 17670, 23560, 29450 5935: 11870, 17805, 23740, 29675 7490: 14980, 22470, 29960 7520: 15040, 22560, 30080 9350: 18700, 28050 9980: 19960, 29940 12160: 24320, 36480 13845: 27690, 41535 I`ve added a couple of 3rd harmonix above 30 MHz, as sporadic E could well propagate those. If your receiver have memories to spare, you might program these in; and then there are the other US stations. Of course at any given time only three WWCR fundamentals could be on air. Or, in consecutive frequency order: 9680, 11780, 11870, 14520, 14980, 15040, 17670, 17805, 18700, 19360, 19960, 22470, 22560, 23560, 23740, 24200, 24320, 27690, 28050, 29040, 29450, 29675, 29940, 29960, 30080, 36480, 41535 - I`ve double-checked and hope no typos! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. 4840, July 1 at 0639, S9+45 of dead air from WWCR-3, during what had been a six-hour TOMBS block M-F 0600-1200 as still shown on June 1 schedule. Tip: if a program and its modulation be gone, you may turn off the transmitter or fill it with something else. Was it thus all night? Reaching WWCR program sked via bookmark still displays June 1 unless refreshed for July 1, which has removed all the BS, replaced with otherstuff such as `Insight for Living` during this semihour 1:30 am Central, still misconverted as 0730 in UTC column, like every other entry. WWCR-4 is totally OFF AIR from 9980. Only a bit of otherstuff remains on 7520 UT Tue-Sat at 00-02, 5890 at 02-04 What about WBCQ? Its never-up-to-date program sked still shows TOMBS in several long blox on 7490, with some variations, Wed 02-04 & 16-20 UT, with correct ET conversions but mislabeled EST instead of EDT! 7490 -77 Hz = 7489.923, July 1 at 1602, indeed TOM but not BS is still on WBCQ at S9 into NH SDR and // but way out of synch with 9930 WTWW. Also, Jean-Michel Aubier says TOMBS still on BULGARIA 17900 from 1500 July 1 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 660, July 2 at 0645 UT, C&W music dominates, must be KTNN again not protecting NY: yes, 0647 ID as ``KTNN, Window Rock, Tohatchi, Pinedale[?]`` - they always ID with two other Res towns after W.R. Night pattern has notch to the NE, major lobe to the NW, slightly pulled in to SW, yet sufficient thisaway. OKC station always a problem but can be overcome; is that station slogan, or just a program? Surprised to get one hit on this but not from the PTA: KRWD Texico TX, 6.1/0 kW, 78 m, classic hits. Of course the transmitter site could be in TX. No, radio-locator shows it`s right in Clovis! 530/329 Broad websearch however leads to wikipedia and KXAZ Page AZ, in connexion with Rewind 93, formerly?
