Only listed at 15-16 is KNLS in Russian; one of better signals on band with depressed propagation (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RCUSB, March 12 at 1457, NO LRA36 signals to three Brasil SDRs where normally audible if on, missing another Saturday. What about the new all-female crewe supposed to overtake? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RCUSB, March 16 at 1508, LRA36 is active this Wednesday, music, only S2/S3 into Brasília #1 SDR, no signal into Campo. 1510 ``Nacional, la radio pública`` ID; 1519 Antártida themesong, gone off by 1523 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** ARMENIA [and non]. 1395, March 15 at 1819, Russian, VG S9+15/30 into Tambov, Russia KiwiSDR, not blocked and no jamming yet, long interview above lots of crowdnoise background --- the new R. Liberty one-hour relay by crowdfunding as USAGM is not interested. Site not revealed but obviously Gavar, the only huge signal on 1395, 500 kW. As to be expected, only 1403 km = 872 statute miles away. Another user is also on this from Arlington VA, guess who? Tambov also has Russian on 1386, in fact sounds like the same, i.e. R. Baltic Waves relay from Lithuania. Strangely, this Kiwi does not block 1386 & 1395, but next channels, 1404, 1413, 1422 are blacked out. 1395 also audible at further Pskov, but lots more ACI from nearby 1386. At 1900, 1395 abruptly switches to TOMBS cult in South Carolina English! No 1395 on the TOMBS website (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) See also UNIDENTIFIED ** AUSTRIA. 15360.421, March 14 at 1923, something way off frequency, African? language, S9+10 with fades to S7. Only thing scheduled 1900-1930 on ``15360`` is AWR Hausa via Moosbrunn; a major 300 kW site where no one is paying attention (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** AZORES [and non]. 6114, March 11 at 0723, the RTTY is still rampant here from presumed US Navy, S9+10 abutting 6115 Japan S5/S8 with song in English (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** BRAZIL. 9666.720, March 10 at 0713, RVM with S4-S7 of secularish music, representing ZY on 31m, altho sometimes I have a JBA carrier 9819+ (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** BRAZIL. 28450 USB, March 11 at 2317-2320+, Calling DX CQ, poor signal but stands out initially as OSOB. Gives call fonetikaly but despite many repeats I cannot figure out what the last letter be: PY2B#. He alternates Bravo and Brasil for the B, but the next letter is unrecognizable, sounds like ``Broadway`` which doesn`t make sense. Signals like this may be trans-equatorial propagation rather than plain old F2, especially over darkness path. This is the season for it and it also affects the FM BC band above 88 MHz, but never this far north. See USA for next log (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** BRAZIL. Re 28450 USB, my ham report of a PY2B# something, last fonetik non-understandable, like ``Broadway``? Chanter, odxa iog suggests: ``Could the Brazilian ham be saying Paraguay as a phonetic for the last letter in his call?`` --- Yes, he could, maybe (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CAYMAN ISLANDS. 28428 USB, March 13 at 1844, ZF2VE with contest contacts; seemed OSOB until ECUADOR showed up, q.v. Says he is beyond Puerto Montt in southern Chile; island sounds like pronounced ``Quiloé``, contact with WB7JB in Washington state, even further than I, who am 9176 km = 5702 stmi; S4/S5, enough to combat my local hi noise level. I know it`s not RFA but CNR1 since it`s // another weaker jammer on 9660 which has a different inaudible victim, R Taiwan International. I continue to wonder whence this jam splurt, eastern or western ``China``? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 9700, March 10 at 0716, RHC only S4-S7 of dead air while all other frequencies are off already. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 6060, March 11 at 0722, RHC S9+10 of dead air except for hum, all other frequencies off. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11760, March 11 at 1553, RHC Spanish with considerable hum often infesting its legacy first frequency. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 13740, March 11 at 2324, RHC Spanish is S9 but horrible overmodulation distortion and buzz. Something`s always wrong at RHC. Meanwhile, the useless Chinese music fill relay on 13650 is relatively clear (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 5025, March 13 at 0657, R. Rebelde is OFF: connected with start of DST as a running dog of Yanqui imperialism? But it`s 24/7. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba. BTW it leaves a local HNL of S9 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 6060, March 13 at 0701* tune-in a few notes of RHC theme and cut off. Might have been about to start Esperanto one hour earlier than before. 6100 still on but S9+30 of dead air; but eventually starts ``2nd hour`` of English, ``top news of the week``, some distortion. No others still on. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 15140, Sunday March 13 at 1507, RHC Esperanto at S9/+20 // 11760 at S9. So this outsending has successfully earlied an hour due to irrelevant local DST (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 15140, March 13 at 1922, RHC English hour earlier now, S9+10 into Missouri but annoying humbuzz. Something`s always wrong at RHC. The next English propaganda hour normally moves one hour later than earlier when DST start, 23-24 instead of 22-23, maybe still on 11880; while the next2 hour on 5040 at 00-01, moves an hour earlier so it coincide with 11880. We shall see/hear (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA [and non]. 6100, March 14 at 0558, RHC is S9+20, but Spanish instead of English. 6060, March 14 at 0558, RHC music, then English, S9+10 with good modulation. 5040, March 14 at 0559, RHC English VG S9+20/30, but cuts off at 0600*. 6165, March 14 at 0601, RHC back here after long absence, and no signal on 9700; maybe starting as early as 0000, unchecked then. S7/S9 with that signature hum, but just barely modulated. By 0605 I realize the language is not English or Spanish, but Arabic? So this is really R. Japan in Arabic via FRANCE as scheduled 0600-0630, underneath the Radio Humvana carrier. Something`s always wrong at RHC. 6000, March 14 at 0604, RHC S9+10/20 of dead air or trace of modulation. Nothing else scheduled, so probably really RHC rather than an understation; altho Echo of Hope, Korea South, might have jumped from 5995 to 6000 this week? Somethings` always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 15140, March 14 at 1921, no signal from RHC when English should have shifted; nor anywhere else on cursory bandcheck now, altho I did confirm it yesterday. RHC is amid the biweek of confusion due to imposition of Yanqui DST already. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11880, March 14 at 2159, RHC unscheduled Spanish on here, S9+25 until chopped off at 2203.5* instead of English as had been at 2200 in B-season until DST imposed. Previous pattern would be to move English one UT hour *later* to start at 2300, but none of that today, still vacant after 2300 and no English found anywhere else. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11850, March 14 at 2204, surveying RHC besides no 11880 with English: none on 13 MHz band; on 11 MHz, only 11850 dead air and Spanish on 11760; on 9 MHz, audible on 9710 and much weaker 9535. By 2304, 9650 has replaced 9710, rather than previous swap time of 0000. After 2300 the only Cuban on 13 MHz is 13650 with useless CRI music relay fill instead of Portuguese. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 5040, March 14 at 2318, RHC in Spanish, not English, which ultimately in DST months may appear this hour instead of one real UT hour later as it had been. 11880 still off, which typically matches 5040 at 23-24 when both attain English. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 5040, UT Tue Mar 15 at 0000, RHC Spanish with frequencies, probably incorrect but not copied. This is when English hour used to start on tropical band. Tnx to DST making it already 8 pm local in Habanamiami, English to USA ought to start somewhere, traditionally 6000 & 6165, but neither is on nor 9700 which mostly replaced 6165 this winter. So I keep checking but English is nowhere, tsk2. By 0032, 6165 is on --- in Spanish, still no 6000, or 6060. But 6165 is *not* // 5040 Spanish. Maybe it`s the alternate TV audio `Mesa Redonda`, but it was previously in the 23-24 UT hour during DST. It was 6000 // 11950 but nothing now on 11950. At 0105: still no 6000; 6165 in Spanish entertainment, not // 11760 & 5040 & 9650 which match each other. By 0145 recheck, 6000 is finally on but Spanish, not English, // 6165. At 0203 still Spanish music on 6000 // 6165, no English. At 0307, 6000 finally in English with a drama about Czechia and Marxism. 6165 is now off as well as 9700, 6100, 6060 not on yet, At 0645, 6060 is Spanish, only S5/S7; 6100 with music, English, S9+20/30 but overmodulated, distorted with hum. 6165, 6000 and 5040 are all off by now. Something`s always wrong at RHC. I knew it would be pointless, but for the record check the RHC website, which ought to show the very latest frequency schedule, ha2. radiohc.cu homepage has dropdowns, the first one on the left, De Interés, normally leads to Frecuencias, but refuses to drop on the portada; if you go to some other page first, then it works, and guess what, still displays the *B20* sked which expired a year ago! Somethings` always multiply wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11880, March 15 at 2258, Virginia SDR is getting music from algo, I guess RHC, S9+10 and noisy, but then into deadair. Recheck at 2329, now it`s in English, so after flailing around a few days, getting act together for English moved to 23-24 --- but at 2303 and 2329, 5040 is still in Spanish, not English. A different YL voice than usual, something anti-American about Assange. Modulation is somewhat distorted and scratchy on 11880. Something`s always wrong at RHC. Spanish, otherwise? at 2328, 11950 // 6000, so `Mesa Redonda` is resuscitated. Mainstream Spanish not // to those but to each other: 11760, 11670, 9650, 9535 music; but 11850 and its parasites are off as are all 13 MHz channels except Chinamusic on 13650. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. Another RHC survey March 16 at 0101 via Maryland SDR: 5040 is S7/S9 of dead air. 6000 is on VG S9/+10 and in English! unlike last night. But no second English channel, all these off: 6060, 6100, 6165, 9700; on in Spanish is 9650. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 15140, March 16 at 1434, open carrier/dead air in Spanish except for a squeal from RHC, S9+10/20 much stronger than 15230 which does manage to modulate S8/S9. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11880, March 16 at 2226, RHC in French, S9+35 with hum, so apparently on DST-adjusted schedule of 2200 French, 2230 Portuguese?, 2300 English. 11850, March 16 at 2227, RHC S9+20 but JBM, suptorted Spanish and parasitic spur on 11840s. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** ECUADOR. 28395 USB, March 13 at 1847, JBA Spanish at first, then HC4CS, Armundo?, 100 watts; next contact in English. Cairo on new frequency some 0.2 kHz higher than before, into UTwente, S9+35 but extremely distorted presumed English as usual. Also hit by big buzz QRM 9885-9915, OTHR? Would you believe that NASWA Journal log editor strips off any precise frequencies reported beyond the decimal, which some of us go to so much trouble to measure, making my previous report nonsensical as if on ``9899``! Also approx. 9899.8 direct at 2207, S7/S9 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** EGYPT. 9809.792, March 15 at 1907, I accidentally tune the Pskov, Russia SDR here while checking 9370 R. All I hear now is incomprehensible African language, presumably Amharic, with the ID, ``Yeh ---`` something, as in WRTH. No French or Slavic. Old favorites from the World Music reel which Richard Langley and Bruce Churchill identified as including: ``First piece was "Amores Imortais" by Brazilian singer Eduardo Costa.`` Then more ``international music (Chariots of Fire, Verdum En Dibe Kadar (Turkish), Da Fing Der Sommer Noch Einmal An” (German) and a short interlude “Vraho Vraho” (Greek)`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** INDIA. 15030, March 16 at 1434, JBA with Doppler flutter, i.e. AIR Dari at 1330-1500 via Bengaluru - no more sesquihour in English! a worthless language per AIR. Still off at 2304 checking Knoxville SDR, and so is 11685 for Africa, nor 11670, leaving only 12030 for English to be heard! Something`s always nonsensical at Noblejas. BTW, don`t rely on W8BUG for accurate SAM frequency displays: it thinx WWV 10000 is +40-41 Hz off! And 11940 as +57, so it would really be only +16/17 unless the offness be nonlinear (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SPAIN. If it`s Tuesday there must not be any English from REE, but checking at 2305 March 15, all four frequencies are on instead of yesterday only one, sounds Castilian but must be the Sefarad service a.k.a. Ladino, a.k.a judeo-español on 9690, 11685, 11940, 12030. Another one is on same set Saturdays at 2230 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SPAIN. 9690, March 16 at 2300 it`s Wednesday so REE in English, feature to be about some American singer/songwriter, so over to TURKEY instead, but first checking all four frequencies into Maryland SDR: VG here and also 11940, 12030, while 11685 is noticeably weaker (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SRI LANKA. 15704.874, March 16 at 1437, JBA carrier way off-frequency, i.e. AWR in Chinese via Trincomalee. Also with Doppler flutter as befits such a transpolar signal. ChiCom probably do not bother to jam as harmless? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TIBET [non]. 17585, March 16 at 1431, JBA carrier with Doppler flutter, presumably ChiCom jammer against VOA Tibetan via Biblis, Germany, scheduled this hour only. Seemed OSOB until I came upon another JBA carrier on 17885, which would be VOA English via Botswana, this hour only. Nothing on Ascension or Mali frequencies: but per Aoki the only one to be on at this moment would be CRI Mali on 17630 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 5960, March 9 at 2316, VOT VG signal and mod unto UTwente this time, with `Feeling Supreme` about natural remedies against pain (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 5960, March 15 at 2307, VOT into UTwente is on and very good, S9+25/35 with only a slight squeal. Altho this is hardly audible direct, we`re not looking forward to A22 when, stuck in a rut, VOT goes back on 9830 at 2200, oblivious of all the RTTY from Puerto Rico (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 5960, March 16 at 2309, VOT English VG today into UTwente with just a hint of squeal, already into first feature, `Feeling Supreme`, on natural ways to keep memory sharp, by nutrition (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** UKRAINE [non]. 7780, March 16 at 0500-0517+, Ukrainian Radio via WRMI; some online casts have included segments in English, originally after 0100 UT, but only Ukrainian language heard now. This is addition to original 12-13 UT relay on 5010 - not part of Shortwave for Freedom crowdfunding as WRMI relayed UR before that was formed. I`ve yet to confirm/listen to that, too early (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 28425 USB, March 11 at 2321, tuning around 10m after q.v. BRAZIL, it`s not the OSOB, because here is a bigger signal calling CQ over and over past 2323+ with no answers, KC4TVZ. Hardly, per QRZ.com: KC4TVZ USA flag USA, Todd Burnette, 6415 Ivy Springs Drive, Flowery Branch, GA 30542, USA. So close, this must be sporadic E (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 15770, reminder that VOA`s Flashpoint Ukraine is now M-F at 1935 via WRMI; and new sked has added WORLD OF RADIO at 1930 Saturdays (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) more below under WRMI ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2129 monitoring: confirmed Friday March 11 after 1915 on IRRS SW 7290 via Bulgaria; and MW 1323 via AM Italia, Villa Estense. Once started I did not keep on them to be sure full 29 minutes aired, but hope so. Did monitor as usual earlier from before 1900: 7290 carrier on at *1857, S9+20/35 but heavy ACI from 7285 into UTwente. After 1900 ACI from the other side, 7295. As always, Bulgaria missed s/on, JIP Feature Story News from a bit before 1901; 1905 IRRS ID and UN News in Brief; 1907 songs filler. Also on 1323, the nearby Noale SDR would not load at first, so tried another, I5HGM at Cavinglia further away, where CCI from Romania in German was atop. At 1911 I got IW3HBX Noale to work, where music on both made SAH of about 3 Hz. WOR 2129 also confirmed Fri March 11 at 2130 on 1323 kHz only, preceded by someshow discussing Ukraine, chopped off at 2129 for ID and then WOR. Now there is no QRoMania; so I try Tambov, Russia SDR, where I`m also audible, but weakly. How far is that? 2311 km = 1406 stmi. Lucky to be heard at all on transmitter of unknown power. The path crosses Ukraine near Kyiv. Also confirmed UT Saturday March 12 at 0230 on WRMI 9395, good S9/+10 into Bikedork Minneapolis KiwiSDR. From next week shifting to 0130. From next week will be at 0400 immediately following ``Radio Angela`` bloc at 0200-0400. During the Feb testing phase, WBCQ was appending some non-Angela programming, and I expected more but seemingly only WOR now. Also confirmed Saturday March 12 at 1700 on WRN North America webcast. Continues for the hour all-talk, S9 into UTwente; JBA S4-S6 into Pskov, Russia, SDR, next to Estonia near the western border; someone in Arlington VA is already monitoring same, so I camp on him. Meanwhile, Argentina remained on 5800. This deal was prompted by crowdfunding campaign, like VOA at 2105 on 15770, but Jeff indicates he`ll keep doing it no matter what. 0259 WRMI ID, 0300 into surprise beepery, seems unlike SW Radiogram but only going by ear. I never hear any voice announcements, but the sound changes at 0313; 0329 cut to music and WRMI ID; 0330 into a gospel huxter with a heavy accent from Brampton, Ontario. That would be Soteriah International Ministry, daily except UT Sunday. The beepery came about without any notice or publicity that I am aware of. I ask Jeff White and Kim Elliot about this, and they reply: ``Glenn: Actually it's a test that Kim prepared in four different modes. The content is an article in Russian about the 75th anniversary of the Russian service of the VOA. Jeff`` ``Testing text modes in Russian. Via SDR in Russia, signal is too weak to understand more than the occasional voice word. But our slower text modes are decoding 100%. Screenshot attached. Kim`` I check again next night UT March 11 on 7780: again R. Svoboda opening with its long-unheard interval signal. Not another beepery at 0300, back to R. Slovakia International, in English (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2129) ** U S A. 9390-9400, March 10 at 0709, heavy wideband noise at S8-S9, almost blotting out TOMBS on WRMI 9395; almost as if deliberate jamming, and not the sound of DRM nor Cuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9955, Sat Mar 12 at 1552, WRMI in fill music rather than TOMBS cult, supposedly sked this semihour only for Sabbath service, but which is live? on not // 9980 WWCR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 15770, Sat Mar 12 at 2124, music on WRMI and not // 11720 VOA, so as expected, `Flashpoint Ukraine` not on weekends when nothing ever happens. From Monday it`s moving to 1935-2000 on 15770 and presumably still not on any of our own VOA frequencies. 7780, R. Svoboda in Russian is expanding to two hours at 0200-0400, but not tonight, English presumably Slovakia on WRMI after 0300. To be daily since not specified as M-F? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9955, March 13 at 2226, WRMI in English, S9+20/30 but quite undermodulated. Scheduled at 2215-2230 Sundays is Voice of Truth -- with a name like that, beware! Something`s odd at Okeechobee (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 7780, at 0330 various nights but not logged, a new gospel huxter on WRMI, ``Soteriah International Ministry``, in English but very heavy African accent hard to understand, encouraging immediate tuneout. Nothing about it on programming page, but bought up a lot of time on sked updated Mar 13: Mon-Sat 0330-0400 7780, but what about R. Svoboda expanded to 0400? Sat 1200-1230 5850 Sat 2200-2300 5850 or is it daily? blank rest of week Tue-Sat 0000-0100 5950 General search on that strange name reveals that Soteriah is Greek for deliverance, i.e. another Christian concept. Maybe the same thing has a place on disgraced FB, but stalled since 2014y! https://www.facebook.com/Soteria-International-Ministries-566096896845170/ Tema, Ghana, is mentioned, which would account for the accent. Yet another one obsessed with the godname Yahweh. There are some other ministries with such a Soteriah name (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 15770, March 14 at 1924, WRMI is S9+10 but undermodulated with R. Prague in English as now scheduled; QRX for `Flashpoint Ukraine` as VOA retimed it for 1935. First I try the PEI Kiwi SDR on the 44-degree way to Europe, but JBA! Then the Maine SDR where it inbooms S9+30: does not speak well for the PEI unit. I listen to VOA via WRMI at 1930-2000 with news and FPUK; trouble is, this Kiwi times out after 20 minutes, prompting reload but only get 10 minutes more in max 30 min per 24 hours allowed. 15770, March 15 at 1935, VOA FPUK via WRMI is VG into Maryland SDR, and sufficient S6/S7 into UTwente (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 7780, March 15 from 0200, WRMI with R. Svoboda relay in Russian, but since Slovakia in English is still on 7780 after 0300, VG into Maryland SDR, I asked Jeff White if R. Svoboda in Russian was really expanding to 0200-0400 as per Shortwaves for Freedom info. He replies: ``Glenn: No, Radio Svoboda in Russian is 0200-0300 and 0400-0500 UT on 7780. Ukrainian Radio in Ukrainian is 0500-0600 UT on 7780. And VOA Flashpoint Ukraine is 1930-2000 UT [M-F] on 15770.`` Indeed, I do hear Svoboda again after 0400, another hour when USAGM doesn`t care; and Ukrainian Ukraine --- could there be an English segment? after 0500, hours when 7780 had been off the air. At 0509 March 15, 7780 is blocked at Tambov, but JBA at Pskov beneath heavy pulsing, OTHR or jamming? At UTwente, 0514, 7780 is fair S9/+10 but also with pulsing 7775-7800, OTHR or jamming? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5850, Mon Mar 14 at 2200, WRMI-12 is not on yet vs hi local noise level while 5950 can be detected. Skedgrid shows *2200 but apparently applies to Saturday only for Soferiah International, African gospel huxter from Brampton, Ont. per System F schedule. Yet System K sked shows 5850 starting at 2230 daily including Saturday with different programming: can`t be both, and anyhow today, 5850 is still not on by 2254. Something`s odd at Okeechobee (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 7780, March 16 from 0200, R. Svoboda via WRMI is JBA into Pskov SDR. Hope it`s doing better elsewhere in Russia. 7780, resuming Russian at 0400, is S9+20/30 into UTwente at first with heavy clatterpulse noise, OTHR or jamming? No good at the other few White/Red Russian SDRs after 0400; Bryansk is silent. Not audible at Minsk; Khimki near Moskva has signal trace but silent. Tambov is always totally blocked above 7 MHz hamband (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. (7490.1v), UT Saturday March 12 at 0100, WBCQ webcast of `AAAWWW`. Allan says in Fla it`s hot and pus-y, as it better be spelt; he fried himself in the sun today. Then an ``aside``, complaining about remotes and other electronic equipment being black, so you can`t see them, read the labels: I`m 100% with him about that! Angela gets to say hardly anything this hour; Allan is trying to keep it non-political; but I gather that Putin wouldn`t dare to invade Ukraine if their beloved leader T**** were still president, blame weak Biden? [Huh?!?! T**** was and is Putin`s greatest fan, lapdog.] Expects Putin to revive SW jamming. Objects to someone saying WBCQ is ``right-leaning`` -- it`s Free Speech! WBCQ is going after grants of many millions of dollars to preserve and expand SWBC, reach ``subjugated`` countries such as Argentina and Brazil - ? 0117 doesn`t know whether WLCR will add Russian or Ukrainian on 9330. 0121, trimulcasting on 7490, 6160, 4790, does not give YOOLF but must be new and live. Then reads long article from The Hill about the revival of SW due to Ukraine crisis; including BBCWS adding 4 hours of English on SW for Ukraine and Russia, 14-16 on 15735, 20-22 on 5875. [Good, but I suspect this of some publicity hype: surely could already be well heard there if not directly targeted; but checking HFCC I see those two transmissions now are the *only* ones in any language for CIRAF zones 28E,39SW. It was already scheduled on 15730 far before and after 15735 hours, but not any more?] 0141 reads another article, source not given, about the Woofferton transmitter site in the UK. Lauds Brits for not destroying it [--- but what about Skelton and Rampisham?]. At WBCQ, vague plans for transmitter upgrades this summer. 0154 email includes notice that pirate Radio Free Naptown celebrates 50th anniversary of FCC raid with a special March 17 at 3 pm, via www.rfnstreaming.com or check their website [how about an axual SW pirate broadcast?? WTFK?]. Prayer and as usual JIP Hal Turner late around 0201 as he is already talking (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 4790, UT Monday March 14 after 0330, `Concert Hall` on WBCQ Radio Angela, concluding Act I of Carmen --- I thought it was supposed to be Act II of Barber of Seville this week; filled with some other Carmen music until 0359. Now starts at 0200 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. (7490.1v), Mon March 14 from 2300, secret semi-replay of `Uncle Bill`s Melting Pot` on WBCQ webcast now a real UT hour earlier. When chopped off at 2330, `Camp Constitution Radio` starts without any extraneous spot commercial inserted, nor was there one last week (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. (12160), Sat Mar 12 at 1800-1829 during my lunch, WWCR #2 stream with `Talking Machine Show` of ancient lo-fi cylinders and discs singing, not talking, à la Marion`s Attic on WBCQ but without the personality: virtually the only WWCR program worth listening to, beyond gospel huxters ad nauseam and far-right extremist talk shows. BTW, CNN has yet to reschedule, AFAIK, their exposé of Alex Jones, which was blown away by BREAKING NEWS re Ukraine. Rechecking the WWCR webskeds, as of March 1, this is still the *only* airtime for TMS among the four 24/7 transmitters. From next week, of course, at 1700-1729 due to the imposition of DST and WWCR`s acquiescence despite supposedly being for an international SW audience only; will their program skeds show 1-hour shifts immediately effective March 13, i.e.. a 5-hour difference between CT and UT? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9475, March 16 at 1445, WTWW-1 surprisingly active on a non-Sunday Wednesday, S9+20/30 with SFAW, so should 5085 WTWW-2 also be running? No (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9275, March 14 at anytime, still no signal from WMLK; we can wait forever for these gospel huxters finally to get their brand new transmitter on the air. It`s been very slow-going, but a new 40-second audiovideo dated March 11, 2022 is up on their disgraced FB: https://www.facebook.com/www.wmlkradio.net/videos/successful-load-test-of-the-step-start/520841509763992/ whatever that means: no narration, just menacing location sound. Only 3 views so far, including me? who cares? Another noisy AV shows demolition of building (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1670, March 15 at 0655, `Black Information Network` ID among the QRM. Per this it can only be Macon: https://www.binnews.com/stations/ and linx to https://macon.binnews.com/ where the callsign is invisible until the very bottom fine print: WMGE, as also in NRC AM Log, but CoL is really Dry Branch, Georgia, why? DB is unincorporated, just SE of Macon but around the transmitter site. Anyway, unusual here with 1670 dominated by WOZN Wisconsin, and the off+frequency new Mexican (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** YEMEN [non]. 11860, March 16 at 2227, surprised to hear some ME music here, no Martí and even less jamming. Also overcoming the JBA parasitic spur of RHC 11850 matching the one in the clear on 11840. Aoki & EiBi show Martí off at 2230; Aoki has Republic of Yemen Radio in a 2-hour break 2200-2400; but EiBi and WRTH show this target broadcast as 24 hours, presumed via SA`UDI ARABIA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 7110 LSB, March 11 at 0536, UTwente still tuned here for Ethiopia or non intruding broadcasters as in previous report, but no longer any sign of that, off or outfaded into daytime? Instead, good signals of QSOs in Russian, still past 0610. No callsigns heard however, so not real hams? ``Priyom`` frequently which apparently means ``cambio``; literally ``reception`` i.e. I am ready to receive you. Pretty sure it was regular Russian at first but later maybe involved some other Slavic language. I hoped someone could tell us what they were talking about, but no replies to my inquiry (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 9370, March 15 from 1900, R. Svoboda in Russian, new crowdfunding-supported relay since USAGM is not interested. Tambov SDR in Russia blox SW above 7.2 MHz, but Pskov is getting this. Before 1900 it was VOA Pashto as scheduled via Thailand, and a SAH from the Svoboda carrier on a few minutes earlier. After brief VOA s/off without YDD variations, only R. Svoboda from somewhere. This is S7-S9 different strength and slightly different offset than VOA was. 1905, `Radio Svoboda, novosti``. I can`t get TDOA to work but don`t trust it anyway; so whence? Maybe Armenia like preceding hour on MW 1395 certainly was, q.v. I don`t know why some assume 9370 be via WRMI but Jeff White confirms it is not and he does not know where 1395 comes from either. Note, here`s which side the Pskov SDR is on as emblazoned on its page: ``Make peace not war! The Ukrainian army has been killing people in Donbass for 8 years. Pskov, Russia``. But Tambov SDR is noncommittal textually, just blocking (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 9517-USB, March 10 at 0711, weak 2-way, in Spanish?, intruding (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 15300, March 14 at 1514-1514.4*, JBA signal with heavy Doppler flutter, i.e. horizontally in frequency, not just vertically in strength. Only one signal, not two beating, when chopped off air abruptly. Nothing between 1500-1600 in HFCC, Aoki or EiBi. In these entire skeds only a handful of transmissions ending at ``-1515``: 7510 KTWR Korean; Chengdu, China on 7225, 6060; Kunming on 7210; none of which seem likely on 15300. No other signals nearby on 19m with such flutter, presumably close to trans-polar (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 28460 USB, March 12 at 1557, CQ contest JBA from an LU station, i.e. Argentina, but can never copy entire call; another on 28467 USB. Just noted here to remind that 10m can be open for T-E propagation; yet no show from any CW beacons around 28.2-28.3 MHz, domestic sporadic E, or DX F2 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) TIPS FOR RATIONAL LIVING What Can We Learn from the War in Ukraine? Four erroneous and dangerous premises have been accepted in current international relations. Juan Antonio Blanco Miami 10 Mar 2022 - 17:40 CET "How did we get here?" Jake Tapper asked CNN on Sunday, March 6. His answer was honest and accurate: it has been two decades of misguided optimism and appeasement by Western leaders, of different parties, eager to ignore Vladimir Putin's grave misconduct inside and outside Russia. In the end, Tapper asked whether any lessons had been learned from all this. He left the answer up in the air, to be pondered by viewers. I don't think so. To correct these errors, it is not enough to point them out. Rather, it is necessary to understand the premises — also mistaken — that spawned the West's indecision, confusion and weakness vis-a-vis its main enemies. And it is not only with Russia that mistakes have been made, but also with Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea, China, and its disgraceful non-state allies (including international terrorism and organized crime). To answer Tapper's question, I think it is necessary to reconsider at least four false and dangerous foreign policy premises that have been accepted over the last two decades by important open societies.... https://diariodecuba.com/internacional/1646930450_38011.html
