Tango in progress; same canned ID at every break between tunes, 1515, 1519, 1522, the ``Nacional Antártida Argentina -- la Radio Pública`` one. 1526 YL closing announcement credits Ministerio de Defensa, so this Base is hardly civilian; also acknowledges all the other LRAs around Argentina allegedly relaying. Do they pick it up off this SW frequency or cheat via satellite or web? Then OM s/off, and 1527-1531* Antártida song. No more mod, but back to Bsla #2 SDR off-tuned to 15475.0-USB, I can tell the reduced carrier stays on, JBA fading in and out making tone just less than 1000 Hz, and *still* on when SDR times out after 60 minutes at 1632, and I`ve had more than enough. Maybe they leave it on to keep the room warmer? Or electrical fluid is cheap? Hardly, nor maybe the Diesel to generate it. It`s 136 km = 85 miles from the nearest metropolis, Enid with more than 4X the population; but 12 FM stations, only 4 of which are full power and one of those, 96.9 really funxions as an OKC station (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** SOUTH CAROLINA [non]. Called the station today and they told me that his organization recently brought that one-hour time slot and he has been on the station before. I guess that was over ten years ago. So, his organization must have more money to burn on airtime on various stations is my point. As you mention on WOR yesterday he is buying more time on WBCQ these days. Artie`` {later: rather two hours at 06-08 UT as below, instead of `Red Eye Radio`; TOMBS purchasing on a month-to-month basis --- A.B.} I`ve also noted these expansions; where comes from all that money?! BS ranting is unlistenable by anyone with half a brain, and blasting that crap over more and more SW frequencies is not going to change that. How ashamed SW stations must secretly be, allowing themselves to depend more and more upon him. 4980, July 4 at 0620, WRMI indeed still on with squealy TOMBS. 5800 at 0628 also, S9+10/20 undermodulated. 9955 at 0637 also JBA carrier presumably same as on new skedgrid overnights. And 9955 definitely TOMBS at 1605 Sunday July 4, so mid-day has been added. But that`s not all!: 6159.901, July 4 at 0621, S9+10, WBCQ with TOMBS, this transmitter also expanded, overnight? Also have a JBA carrier on 3265.147, must be same as previously measured offset+plus. No 7490 or 9330 tho. WBCQ program sked still shows no expansion of 6160 nor any 3265 at all! 9265V, July 4 at 0635, JBA S9 = hi local line noise level, must be WINB, normally never on at this hour, bet it`s TOMBS too! Program sked not updated since June 6. However, EiBi shows 9265 in DRM at 0700-1100 M-F only, but this is Sunday. Classaxe.com shows respective periods are 6.27 and 7.41 seconds. Harvs is a strange name, and not even in my large scale Rand McNally atlas, but distancefromto.net locates it not near Newton at all, but NW of Lyons and ENE of Great Bend. Wonder what`s wrong now? Meanwhile, Benn Kobb has unearthed some buried but public documents from the FCC website about the delay in approving WBCQ purchase of WHRI; Allan`s sister Barbara objects, saying he is ``fronting`` for that Egyptian billionaire behind World`s Last Chance Radio, who of course could not own US radio stations outright. His name is redacted but obviously Galal P. Doss (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9330, July 2 at 2020, WBCQ WLCR still AWOL (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. (7489.9v), July 3 at 0000, WBCQ webcast of `AAAWWW`, WTO, and Allan starts out saying he is ``extremely sexually satisfied``. Angela pretends? to shush him looking for mute button but there is none. This sounds familiar; guess they have sex before every show as warmup. They are so in love! From Deland of Fla where it was 100 degrees. What`s wrong with Canada? Way behind in vax and opening up. Usual rants equating Democrats with Communists; beware of flash mobs robbing CVS --- not today when I was in Enid`s. 0032 datestamp as 28th of May, YOOL 2021: this is a RERUN! I heard it before but same kind of stuff every week so I didn`t realize that immediately. So I stop listening. You may see my and John`s report of then in my log report of May 29 UT. John Carver agrees it`s from May and does not re-report it. Earlier I had checked if there were any new twits, and yes, from today, he predicted would be on 7490, 6160 AND 3265, which has been AWOL for months. Indeed 3265 is audible in Maryland with lots of noise --- great band for summer! But it`s other programming, probably TOMBS, but I don`t care enough to seek a parallelish. N.B. Anker Petersen who in ``tropical`` surveys had 3265 as a goner (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 3265.108v, July 3 after 0000 during `AAAWWW` repeat on 6 & 7, WBCQ on here too with else, presumed TOMBS, and I missed citing the exact frequency per SAM readout on Maryland SDR. All ``classic`` WBCQ transmitters must be significantly off-frequency and varying; depending on roughly-cut crystals? 3265.111v, July 3 at 1613 via Maine SDR, S5, WBCQ is also on now! and with TOMBS. Running it all day, all night? Ditto 6159.901v at S9. Too close, 7489.952v is also barely detectable; but no 9330. The WBCQ website ``program schedule`` is far out of date! 3265 is not even included; still shows 6160 not starting until *2300 except Sundays *2200 for WOR & HRI (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9330, still AWOL WLCR via WBCQ. Dave Zantow got the reason: ``Alan Weiner via Twitter (July 4, approx. 1330 UT) --- "9330 the worlds Superstation off the air. The power amplifier tube cracked in half!!! Never saw that one before. Manufacturing defect we think as the big PA tubes last up to decades. Searching for a spare now. TH576 made by Thales in France. Very disappointed. Cost new $100k." Dave Zantow N9EWO, Janesville WI, "Dave's Radio Receiver Page"`` (WOR iog) ** U S A. 9330, July 6 at 0124 still no signal from 500 kW WLCR via WBCQ, and I guess there will not be for a while. Update on this via Mike Terry: ``[WOR] WBCQ "Big Tube" a write-off --- Allan Weiner @AllanWBCQ · 4h Trials and tribulations. Searching for a TH576 tube, or equivalent, to get the mighty 9330 back on the air. Classic WBCQ still going strong on 7490/6160/3265 khz. The free speech goes on!! The big tube went to air while on the air. All burnt up and not rebuildable. Sad $200k loss. (Twitter 5 July 2021)`` Well, isn`t the thing insured or under warranty? Anyhow, out of pocket of the wacko Egyptian billionaire (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. As Dr Hansjoerg Biener points out, WRMI has a new skedgrid dated 1 July. It`s a different URL so bookmarx must be replaced: WRMI A21 Schedule as of July 1 - Google Sheets https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/13Hra1coQGQAKDzn8QGeAqPuXbvFsn7umGzESGJQUx5k/edit#gid=0 OR: https://tinyurl.com/unsb6zp5 4980 has been reactivated after quite a spell without even an exciter occupying it. Heard S9+10/20 at 0626 July 3 with TOMBS and squeal like also heard on 5800 earlier. Now 4980 is WRMI-4, shown as nothing but TOMBS at 0000-1100, 160 degrees. (However, part of that is to be pre-empted for something else on July 10.) WRMI-2 is now shown as the only unit with zero hours 24/7, at 222 degrees on 5985. Instead, the 5985 block is now from WRMI-14 at 0330-0600, 181 degrees; same transmitter used for 5010 at all its times. WRMI-3, 9955 at 160 degrees is now shown as 24 hours, the previous gaps 04-10 and 15-21 filled by, what else, TOMBS! Contradixion: on the System C sked itself of TOMBS, 9955 is NOT shown overnight, and in daytime at 15-17 on Saturdays only. Another contradixion: WRMI-9, 15770 on the xmtr grid continues 22-02 UT with TOMBS, but on System C only at 21-22. I expect there are more anomalies/changes from previous grids (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5800, UT Sat July 3 at 0200-0300, Texas R SW via WRMI presents Europirates or lowpowers, this week R. Igloo from Sweden. Various elder members of a West Coast DX club introduce themselves in English and play a favorite Swedish tune, all unfamiliar but less so the final one by ABBA [sorry, I don`t have a backward B]. I also notice a squeal via the remote, Maryland? I think still in play; squeal like used to infest WWCR-1 but no more. Not sure if now it`s real or remote-imposed, but also heard later on 4980 direct (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9395, July 5 at 0205 tune-in to WRMI for Texas R SW 4th of July special - patriotic speech by YL in progress, not music yet; illegible notes; 0213 Ray Charles: America the Beautiful; 0222 QSL offer in OM voice and intro next tune, Springsteen: Born in the USA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9955, Tue July 6 at 2218, WRMI with Radio Emma Toc, World Service, that strange quasi-DX programme monthly from Britain; bits about R. Caroline, and Good Morning Vietnam. Show is going on hiatus for a while after this one, he says (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5010, July 7 at 0139, WRMI-14 poor here in noise, not 5015, altho Ivo Ivanov found it on ``wrong`` 5015 in the July 6 morning at 1210 & 1230 via Boca Ratón SDR. Must check that July 7 in the 11-14 UT span. Have asked Jeff about it but no reply yet (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) See also SOUTH CAROLINA [non] ** U S A. 5010, July 7 at 1116, JBA here and not 5015, presume WRMI back on non-wrong frequency, as reported by Ivo 23 hours before. Still no reply from Jeff about this; usually when he does not reply to a direct inquiry it means there is something negative he would rather not discuss (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) See also SOUTH CAROLINA [non] ** U S A. 4980, July 7 at 0140, WRMI-4 with squeal on USB not LSB of my R75, but is it transmitted or receiver artifact? Recheck at 0357 on Key West SDR, no squeal (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5085, UT Sun July 4 at 0028, WTWW-2 with `TOUTA` almost on time, including really frantic version of William Tell Overture; take that, AAAWWW! But by then I`m on the stereo webcast, non-distorted. Ends right at 0100 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5085, July 6 at 0117, WTWW-2 with Ted saying he`s about to play a 4th of July special of patriotic American music, recorded last night, which failed to air ``because a cow stepped on a cable``. Very distorted modulation tho and I shan`t listen. The carrier is also jittering slightly, checked with BFO (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5830, July 7 at 0144, WTWW-1 carrier is cutting on and off the air about once per second but not exactly, making the PPPP modulation unusable, tsk2. Still so past 0200+; hey Ted, haven`t you noticed something`s slightly wrong? Don`t you even listen raptly to your benefactor? Recheck at 0219, now carrier stays on. 5085 meanwhile, WTWW-2, July 7 at 0145, carrier still jittery but nowhere near as bad as 5830; yet obviously defective (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 7505, July 6 at 0122, WRNO is AWOL again. Usually was quite strong lately when active (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 7505, July 7 at 0142, WRNO is back on after missing last night; whew (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 15825, July 7 at 1351, WWCR-1 is Just Barely Modulated, or to be charitable, very undermodulated. I have no way of quantifying such judgments. Have to turn volume way up (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 15745-USB, July 1 at 1608, rough tone transmission with multiple carrier peaks, a different sound than usual from the lower half of the WINB hybrid DRM on ``15750``. Maybe that means it is just idling rather than crypto stocktrading info. Off by 1706 check (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1360, July 4 at 0345-0355 UT, trying to hear WNJC, Washington Twp, the one near Camden NJ, via closest KiwiSDRs, in preparation for July 4th DX test at 00-10 UT, but not getting anything identifiable via Philadelphia, Central NJ to the north, nor Fair Hill, Maryland to the south; as I have little hope of getting it direct despite nightly `DX tests` from 0400 in June and early July. The July 4 special might have been on tonight = UT July 4 but probably really UT July 5, they did not make explicitly clear (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1360, UT Mon July 5 at 0022, I`m tuned to the KiwiSDR in Philadelphia for the publicized 4th of July special DX test from WNJC, Washington Twp - of several in NJ, the one near Camden and hence Philly. I`m hearing a tone at S5-S6; 0023 singing jingle ID ``WNJC 13-60``; Star-Spangled Banner in Jimi Hendrix style, but not quite? Mixing in a few notes of Taps; then VVV VVV VVV DE WNJC in Morse code - not CW but tones on AM carrier. WNJC calls repeated over and over, I lost count after eleven, maybe for a minute; 0028.5 sweep tones upward. I had no chance of getting it direct, but wanted to hear and confirm what was going out. Despite proximity, hardly a local-quality signal, altho it was dominant on frequency. Night and day coverage maps at radio-locator.com imply the low-power night pattern axually has a better lobe into Phila. than the higher-power day pattern. Strangely enough, 24 hours later, I have seen zero reports of this on the NRC or IRCA lists; maybe I should tell them that at least I for one heard it, albeit remotely (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, WOR) ** U S A. Slogan did not start with ``The`` so that leans to SC, which is also a likely distance for sporadic E, 1049 miles. Beatrice however might have ``skipped`` in via tropo scatter, 275 miles, too close for Es. Such fringe stations mostly in KS & OK are the bane of my FM DXing, as they can fade in and out completely much like Es. Checking Radio-locator next, both have iHeart oonnexions, but neither directly owned, both with streaming via iHeart.
