Also an undercurrent of Spanish audio. Perhaps site plugged into wrong program feed, even something off satellite? Keeps going past 0700 with no break, when I`ve got to quit. Something`s always wrong at RHC. Paul Walker, Alaska, was also hearing this: ``R. Havana Cuba Stoops To A New Level Of... I'm not sure what to call what I heard last night/this morning. They were broadcasting English language movie audio last night in the 0700 UT. Not just snippets, but an entire Robin Williams movie. The slightly odd but not shocking thing was, RHC program audio was heard under the movie audio. The movie audio was quite well heard, clean, easy to understand. The program audio was way way under that barely rising to barely detectable levels. Even after 9700 should've signed off, it continued on, but solely with audio from another movie. Not sure what in the world was going on!`` I did not recognize Robin Williams, but this was not a comedy. I recall hearing a similar anomaly at least once before, but difficult to find among all my RHC logs. Maybe the ops were watching a movie in the shack, mistakenly putting it on the air? Paul replies: ``A friend and I were texting as we both DX'd, he in Mobile Alabama. He identified it was Robin Williams as I wasn`t at my radio at the time, but I rushed over to it; and I would've recognized the voice as Robin Williams shortly, if my friend hadn`t told me. It`s his opinion of what could have happened to the RHC signal on 9700 from Bauta.`` ``Sometimes satellite receivers are used as backup linx in case the main routes fail. The satellite receivers sometimes ``de-program`` themselves with failures of AC or abrupt voltage changes, going to channel 00 which is Cubavision. It`s necessary to reboot them to return to the RHC channel. I`m not 100% certain that it`s like this at Bauta, but it is in my work. Aggravating the situation at Bauta is that the programming transmitted on this frequency is in English and may not be perceived by the operator. It also could happen that a transmission starts OK and later this happens.`` Is he suggesting that ``Cadillac Man`` in English was being broadcast on Cubavision? There are about 10 different channels, and it seems not unusual to be running Yanqui movies late at night. Maybe with original English sound, but subtitled. At each stop on the virtual span I change to RF to see where it`s really coming from. 36-1, first the PSIP ID is KUOKCD1 which means it`s RF36; 36-1, later just KUOK which is RF 29. That`s Univision on both 36-2, UNIMAS, RF 29 36-2, UNIMAS, RF 36 36-3, this number is skipped! 36-4, Catchy, RF 36 36-5, H&I, fades below threshold before I can check 36-6, seems another one here I did not get to For KUOK-CD, RF 36 & virtual 36, rabbitears.info shows: 36-1 KUOK 36-2 Unimas 36-3 [skipped] 36-4 StartTV 36-5 H&I 36-6 3ABN 48-1 Estrella Catchy is a Comedy channel. Are the OKC KUOKs considered as subsidiaries/satellites/relays of the Woodward one? Surely it`s the other way around. RF 36 site in OKC is just east of Santa Fe Ave on SE 49th St. Note also, RF 29 KTUZ with its panoply is really licensed to Shawnee, which is rather too far out to be considered a suburb of OKC. Just before then the RAIN report was presenting Benn Kobb of Experimental Radio, about the upcoming LPFM licensing window and the emergency alert test. Also confirmed circa 1945 the WOR webcasts presumably starting at 1930 on WRMI, and WRN for North America. WORLD OF RADIO 2204 monitoring: confirmed UT Sunday August 20 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, VP into Durango2 SDR but audible except for 14-second noise blast QRM at the start. Later into Louisiana SDR, much better S9+10/20. Also confirmed UT Sunday August 20 from 0322 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, VG S9+10/20 into nearby SDR. One needs to keep checking the WRMI sked grids even if there be no change in the Update date. I do so after 05 UT Sunday and spot some new WOR times: UT Sunday 0000 on 9955, too late to check this week; Tuesday 1300 on 9955; Friday 2030 on webcast only. NOT confirmed Sunday August 20 at new time 1130 on WRMI 9955, which supposedly just started last week. I manage to become awake today only to find a gospel huxter on instead. Later another check of the still dated ``Aug 11`` skedgrid *now* shows WOR an hour earlier at 1030! Hope this last more than a week, altho very early for North Americans. WORLD OF RADIO 2204 monitoring: again this week NOT confirmed Sunday August 20 at 2000 on WRMI webcast only, rather sounds like ``world music`` filler; despite WOR listing on skedgrid. But at same time, Sunday August 20 at 2000, yes, reconfirmed on WRN webcast of European stream; and on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1323 kHz, S9+10/15 into nearby Noale SDR. Whew, since our other time on 1323, Friday at 2030, was replaced without notice by something else. This was after a music show featuring something from Gambia, outro at 2059 as on IRRS but I never hear any program title. O, on sked it is: `IPAR - 16 Gwendoline Street` as part of International Public Access Radio, which also applies to this WOR broadcast. But what in the world is significance of that street address? Top hit on broad search leads to Raceview, Queensland, 4305. Another is in Mount Gambier, South Australia, 5290. And another in Glenholme, Rotorua District, 3010, New Zealand. Yet another in Price Town, Nant-y-moel, CF32 7PN, which judging from the strange names and postcode must be in UK. Yes, Wales, as in CardifF, and several more in UK! One recent DX website says: ``QSL 16 Gwendoline Street via IRRS-NEXUS 1323 kHz August 4, 2023 / Peter Reuderink / 0 Comments As a follow up to my previous post: I received a kind email from Stephen Jones (gwendolinestreet(at)gmail.com), the producer of “16 Gwendoline Street”. I received this program via IRRS-NEXUS, Italy, 1323 kHz. Stephen wrote that the program I received a program that was made by Rose from Radio Northern Europe International while he was visiting a poetry festival on the Isle of Wight. “16 Gwendoline Street” has been on air via IRRS since 2007. Focus is mainly on a core group of dedicated listeners to what Stephen describes as “Loosely Arts based”.`` That still does not explain why it names a programme, and I doubt it would work as a postal address for reception reports. Posties also might mistake it as an attempted delivery address rather than addressee name. But I digress. WOR 2204 also confirmed UT Monday August 21 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S5/S7 into Louisiana SDR starting with 14-second noise blast QRM. Besides the usual Tulsans on 20, 26, 28, 34, I am getting solid decode from only one Wichita station, KAKE ``10`` on RF 10; not often seen here with antenna aimed at OKC. From circa 0300 UT Aug 19. Rabbitears.info shows KAKE is on both RF 10 and RF 21 from exactly the same tower, why? More power on VHF; I think I have seen it before on 21 but not now.
