Altho I`m all for the Arts, REE overdoes it, maybe due to staff interest, or ``safe`` non-political subjects. As always, very lacking any visual element. At end her name uttered once sounded like Munia ben-Jamada, hardly lithuanic and subjects were rather Arabic, so maybe two separate topix as I dozed and napped unavoidably. About car makers removing AM radio; thinx not only because of noise levels, but `they` are trying to censor conservative talk radio, a major format on the band. Also, I have just noticed that both WRMI-1 and WRMI-2 are shown as on 7730, zero hours per day, at 44 and 160 degree azimuths respectively. Yet 7730 remains for many blox on the program/system skeds below. We never hear it nor have we for at least 6 months. There are also lots of other blank hours on the grid; at 16-21 UT only 4 frequencies in use of the remaining transmitters: 17790, 15770, 9455, 9395 - make that three! But demonstrates a management not really serious about its job, or it would have a human constantly monitoring all 4 transmitters 24h; o, that could drive even gospel huxter sympathizers batty; how about 5-second spot chex every 5 minutes? and/or some fail/safe setup to restore. Do clients silenced get a rebate or make-good, or even know what`s happening?? OTOH they could pay a little extra for the bonus leapfrogs (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 880, April 8 at 0601 UT on R75 with E/W longwire, two news stations mixing, Fox on KRVN Nebraska and WCBS NYC. DX test from KJJR supposed to start at 0601, but not heard until 0605 on the DX398, Morse code: VVV VVV VVV DE KJJR - and repeated several times. So that`s it: won`t need to listen another bihour. Besides, this is not the second, not the third, but the fourth DX special from KJJR, Whitefish, Montana in last few years when I also heard it: Nov 8, 2020; Jan 8, 2022; Nov 5, 2022. It`s 10 kW on ND day pattern. Peaks NW/SE but can`t eliminate KRVN, WCBS nor sometehing in Spanish. At 0607 sounds like SSTV which is a new mode for these, and no way am I going to be able to decode it. No doubt there will be countless other reports about in IRCA. Tnx for the test. Sibling station KSEN 1150, Shelby MT, to do the same thing 24 hours later. In this case day pattern will be advantageous, SSE instead of NNW at night (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1150 kHz, April 9 at 0601 UT another DX test from KSEN, Shelby MT is scheduled to start. On the DX-398 with due north KSAL nulled as much as possible, I briefly think I hear some sweep tones, but must have been spurious sounds, wishful as absolutely nothing in the nature of a DX test perceived until 0620 and another check around 0640; mainly two stations echoing with C2CAM. No one else heard it either. Paul Walker then informed us: ``A little oopsie with the KSEN test --- There was a bit of a mistake. KSEN programming staff accidentally scheduled the test for Monday morning at 1201 [0601 UT April 10]. KSEN has been lowered to proper night power and the test will run as scheduled just a day late`` causing a lot of lost sleep, not including me (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1150 kHz, April 10 at 0600 UT, no sign of DX test from KSEN Shelby MT, as delayed oopsie 24 hours; another no show? I`m listening on DX-398 nulling KSAL as much as possible. At 0605 some tinkling bells which could have been an else liner. But 0610 I finally copy JBA Morse code as VVV VVV VVV DE KSEN, and repeated several times. First few minutes might have been talk indistinguishable from the QRM. One of my best signals yet from this. Glad to have them again. The question remains: are these harmonix really accidental? And why don`t they occur when same? transmitter is on 5040, 7260. Marshall Reel, near Washington DC, says 11835 cut off suddenly at 0859* (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VANUATU. 7260, April 12 at 0635, weak signal with presumed Bislama talk from RV, still active here at least until 0659. Much more successful than neighbor Nigeria 250 kW (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VATICAN. 15565, April 11 at 1528, VR IS, 1530 opening Amharic, S9+10/20. Incredibly, this is the strongest signal on band = SSOB, supposedly aimed 140 degrees from SMG toward Ethiopia. Another example of off-target coverage by this site: maybe accidentally aimed backwards toward us at 320 degrees; or back-radiation not suppressed at all. 15565 runs from 1530 to 1830 in a variety of languages, 250 kW with azimuth changes depending on the particular African destination. Several other Eurosigs on 19m much weaker, not to mention NAmsigs on 15825, 15770 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 6225 CW, April 11 at 0632, exactly 24 beeps per minute, like a strange timesignal (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 6925, April 10 at 0005, only pirate besides 6915 Crapola is very weak signal here. HFU reports of Damn Skippy on USB, mostly before 0000: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,112493.0.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 7480.07, April 9 at 0650, S6/S8 dead air. No broadcaster listed; ute, or possibly warmup channel only for a nearby frequency, like VOA does (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 7647.4 USB, April 9 at 0648, 2-way in Spanish (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 9759 USB, April 6 at 0637, 2-way Spanishish INTRUDERS (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 11900.9 USB, April 0554, 2-way in unID language. It seems no one else bothers to document these INTRUDERS: unidentifiable, not SWBC, so off-topic, who cares? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
