two-month reprieve for shortwave until end of May. They may not have

1809. Hope they didn`t hasten to blow the thing up. By 2318, some
Greekish music is JBA, maybe degraded propagation; but nothing at all

** GREECE. 9420: Numerous monitors have been trying to hear VOG since
``reprieve`` until May 31 instead of closing as of March 31, but
without success. At 2210 April 2, UTwente is barely locking onto a
weak 9420 signal, probably CNR6 Amoy service; with huge splash from
tinkling HF Chinese music on 9410, i.e. the CRI ``Portuguese`` hour
via East Turkistan. No sign of Greece. As I said before, word may be
slow getting to Avlis site about the reprieve, so let`s hope they
haven`t destroyed anything yet. Not now on 9935 either and I find hard
to believe some blog about that, 1655 also an odd time of day for a
mass broadcast. Keep checking 9420: it used to be on early UT Sundays
for Orthodox mass, lovely music, around 0600/0700 then off for the

back on air April 4 at 1500. This should not have been a surprise as
reprieve info indicated it would be M-F only. Some others also

But at 1710 into UTwente, the one station on 9420 is NOT in Greek, nor
musical, continuous talk in unknown language. Maybe Uyghur as CNR13 is
scheduled from Lingshi until 1805, and ERT off again? 1727 a bit of
theme music, back to talk past 1730+. Heavy ACI from 9425 VOK in
Russian.
EiBi is up and 90% complete for A22; time version shows the Lingshi //
to 9420 is 9890; checked at 1741, it seems // but heavy music CCI on
9890, which per Aoki would be V of Korear in Ararbic.
I did not get back to 9420 until 1806, when nothing was left, but
Richard Langley heard via UTwente 9420 CNR13 going off about 1805.
Christos Rigas, Wood Dale, Illinois, says, ``I was hearing VO Greece
today via UTwente between 1445-1700 UT with quite a good signal. I
stopped listening at 1700. When I tuned in again at 1812, there was no
signal of any kind on 9420 kHz``. He speaks Greek fluently and is sure
it was VOG earlier.
9420.003, one more check at 2340 April 4, UTwente lox onto a very weak
carrier, obviously not Greece, maybe China. It seems that under the
reprieve, only two staff are paid for at Avlis, so operational hours

several remotes in several direxions; but then [at 0341] I could
*barely* detect what sounded like my voice at the Bonaire remote -- as
if on air but very reduced power? Propagation may be disturbed, but
surely not that much. 5970 WEWN is still well audible everywhere; as
is your 5950 for example.
I have also noticed 4980 missing last night and again tonight. Hope

I would not be surprised if 5985 were running the exciter only. There
has been no reply; nor anything about these on disgraced FB. Another
check of 5985 direct at 0354 got a JBA carrier only; and 4980 off.
WOR 2132 also confirmed Friday April 1 at 1430 on WRMI 9955, S8/S5 and
seems somewhat undermodulated.
Also confirmed Friday April 1 at 1815 on IRRS SW, 7290 via Bulgaria,
only S8/S9+5 into UTwente and no trace of 14580 second harmonic. Also
on AM Italia, 1323 kHz, S9/+10 into nearby Noale SDR, but considerable
CCI in German from Romania`s minority service, as this has also moved
one UT hour earlier than in winter. We are usually atop and maybe will
improve as sunset latens.

and no QRM by now but some occasional storm crashes into Noale SDR.

proportional to environmentalism; as usual chopped off incomplete at

listening to noise on 4790 pending resumption of WOR. Meanwhile I was
timing the about 2-second-long uteblaaaps, sounding every 4:00 minutes
exactly, such as about 5 seconds past these minutes logged whether
WBCQ was on or not: 0415, 0443, 0447, etc. What and why??

Originally after 1500 no other WTWWs were on: 9475, 5830, 5085. At
1523 I checked one of the HMB remotes on California coast, and 9940
was dominated by Chinese - presumably jammer against USAGM Kuwait that
hour. The imaginary ``15810`` sked shows Russian at 13-14 only, no
Ukrainian but at 15-16 Greek. Before any ID, tried to run TDOA at
1534, which made a wild guess somewhere in the mid-Atlantic ocean. It
was only S6/S7 into Maine remote, but at 1606, S9/+12 into Maryland.
Not rechecked until 1835 by when it`s back to rock music on 9940

hearing more than a JBA carrier and in the clear, no worries about
QubaRM. And Nigeria has courteously de-adjacented itself from 7255,
but some QRhaM encourages LSB tuning. Ron Howard says there were
Tropical Low weather advisories, heard until modulation cut but still

UNIDENTIFIED. 6174.030, April 1 at 0611, JBA carrier, instantly
reminding me of R. Tawantinsuyo, Cuzco, Perú which has been inactive
for a long time, and was always offset about 6173.9. It`s still in
Aoki, of course, on 6174. And still in WRTH 2022 as OAX7C, 1 kW on
6173, and not daggered as inactive or irregular. It was last reported
by LOB in Brasil June 22, and by me remotedly by June 26, 2021.

UNIDENTIFIED. 11620, April 4 at 1509, S9/+20 in English evidently for
kids about drawing images of God? Vatican Radio not scheduled here
until *1530, and no English until 1615. Nothing in Aoki at this hour,
nor A-22 EiBi which is now up and 90% complete as of April 4. Nor in
HFCC which as of 1625 April 4 was last updated April 1! What is this??

UNIDENTIFIED. 11620, meant to get here before 1500 April 5 to check
out mystery gospel-huxtering in English, but not until 1525, when it`s
only S9 into UTwente with big splash from 11610 CRI East Turkistan.
1528 hymn and 1529* off. But just before 1530 it`s back on or
something is giving e-mail @VOMKorea.com. That`s a big clue. Huge
VATICAN in Arabic does not crash-start 11619.995+ until *1530.
VOM Korea is Voice of Martyrs. Cannot find anything on their website
about SW broadcasts! Hit EN icon and it stays in Korean! Altho
primarily for Korea, HQ in the South, this ministry also goes
elsewhere including India and Africa where English might be useful.
WRTH 2022 shows no such broadcasts on page 518, just three Koreans via
Tashkent, including 1530-1600 daily on 7530 in B-21. Perhaps 11610 now
replace that? But no good with Vatican on it. Unless before 1530 I had
a totally different station. Still no listings in latest HFCC dated
April 5, nor Aoki, nor EiBi, nor in Feb WRTH B21 Updater. When I
recheck 11620 at 1635, Vatican is finished, and nothing else.

On RBA website, called True Voice of the Martyrs --- nothing about
11620 or at this time on RBA sked, but shows the VOM program could be
relayed elsewhere, and yesterday`s signal on 11620 was good enough to

UNIDENTIFIED. 11620, April 6 at *1500, mystery Protestant broadcast in
English on air abruptly and I do not catch any ID. It`s S7/S8 into
Missouri SDR; program theme at O&C is hymn ``Blessed Assurance``.
Gospel huxter starts mentioning wildfires at Colorado Springs as if
current or recent. There may be lots of them, but quick search implies
the last major event was December 22, 2021. Goes on to discuss and
instruct on how to pray and how much -- plenty. From visual
references, this is soundtrack of some TV program.
At UTwente it`s S8/9+10 on 11620.001. At Bandung SDR it`s S8/S9. 1510
I attempt some TDOAs: Brisbane/Perth/Bandung lead to -35.80, +118.20,
which is in the Indian Ocean just off the SW tip of Australia near
Albany WA: no, but I am still suspecting RBA Kununurra in NW WA. At
least I find the signal widely audible: S9+10 into Half Moon Bay, CA;
S9/+10 into Kuwait. At 1525, S Korea/Kuwait/Perth lead to somewhere
deeper into the Indian Ocean.
At 1527 the Blessed Assurance theme again, a couple bits of other
tunes, closing with contact info or ID as VOMKorea, off at 1529.7* in
time for Vatican crash start Arabic at *1530.
