B-20 SCHEDULES The WORLD OF RADIO homepage linx to many different versions of new B20 SW schedules; look for B20 at http://www.worldofradio.com DX/SWL/MEDIA PROGRAMS updated November 13 http://www.worldofradio.com/dxpgms.html Note: about a dekaday after the icestorm, my main antenna to the R75, ~100 foot E-W-ish longwire, has been restored circa 1930 UT Nov 4. But line noise level is too high around here. ** CANADA. 248-MCW kHz, Nov 5 at 0704 UT, dash and WG, the NDB from Winnipeg with quite a strong 1 kW signal like PR on 391; but no rarities from elsewhere in Canada; weak 250-watt, 413-MCW, YHD from Dryden, Ont (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CANADA. 328-MCW kHz, Nov 11 at 0739 UT, ND beacon dash and YTL, which is 1000 watts from Big Trout Lake, Ontario, way north of Thunder Bay, last logged Oct 10 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CANADA. 351-MCW kHz, Nov 8 at 0743 UT, dash and YKQ, 500-watt ND beacon at Fort Rupert - Waskaganish, Québec, which is on an inlet at the very southern end of James Bay, near the Ontario border. No problem separating from 350 RG at WRWA OKC. 346-MCW kHz, Nov 8 at 0744 UT, dash and YXL, 500-watt NDB at Sioux Lookout, Ontario (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CHINA. CNR1 jammer survey, Nov 5 at 1441, none in the WOOB 13s, 12s or 10s, but weak Chinese on 11120, JBA carriers on 11440, 11460 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CHINA. CNR1 jammer survey near sunset here, Nov 8 at 2308: 7540 & 7470 in Chinese, both against RFA in Tibetan this hour only, via Kuwait and Tajikistan, respectively. Nov 8 from 2325, WOOB survey between 12 and 14 MHz only finds CNR1 jammers: 12190 & 12230 S3-S4, the rest JBA/carriers: 12500, 12550, 12870, 13070, 13160, 13920 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CHINA. 7430, Nov 8 at 2309, S9 Khmer mentioning Boris Johnson. It`s CRI via Nanning site; need LSB to avoid 7435 R Marti and jamming splash (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CHINA. 7220, Nov 8 at 2311, Vietnamese talk with music CCI, S9+15/20, CRI scheduled via Xianyang site --- o, it`s not QRM but voice-over, geez, briefly music only; but when talk resume I can still detect an understation, which would be Romania in English (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CHINA. CNR1 jammer search, Nov 10 at 1350, none WOOB higher than JBA carriers on 10920, 10720; at 1353, JBA or JBACs on 9215, 9290, 9315, 9320, 9340, 9355, 9370 --- but per Aoki of these, 9290, 9340, 9355 and 9370 are all something else (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CHINA. Evening CNR1 jammer search WOOB, Nov 10 from 2310: JBA or JBA carriers, u.o.s. Strong 13070 S6-S9 brought up on second receiver for easily // chex. Started tuning down from 14000; there may have been some above: 13160, 13130, 13070, 12880, 12835 S5-6, 12820, 12550 S6-8, 12500 S6-7, 12230 S6-7, 12210, 12190. At 2319, 11775 inband // 13070. From 2321: 11750 S4-6, 11580 S3, 11520 S3, 11500 S2, 11440, 11170, 11150, 11120, 11100 S6-8, 10970 S7-8, 10920 S7-8, 10870 S5-6, 10820 S4-6, 10160 S8-9! - but avoids the ``30m`` hamband up to 10150. From 2327: 9180, 9200 S9+20/25, 9215 S7, 9230?, 9300 S7-8 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CHINA. 6090, Nov 11 at 0005, poor Chinese not // CNR1 11070 etc., rather CNR2, China Business Radio. Aoki/NDXC shows site Golmud 916, while EiBi shows q which is really the same: q-Ge'ermu/Golmud "916" (Qinghai) 36N26-95E00 Would you believe Aoki/NDXC still shows on 6090 the Anguillan part of Great Britain; and Bandeirantes/Brasil. 6080, Nov 11 at 0006, CNR1 at S9+10 not a jammer but // 11070 which is; site also q, only one myriahertz separate from 6090 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CHINA. 11790, Nov 10 at 2318, discussion in American English, so likely CRI, certainly not VOA! Yes, sked CRI 23-01 via Xianyang site; and not hearing any RHC spur from 11800 which is fairly strong; nor on 11810 but something else, per Aoki/NDXC CNR8 in Mongolian from Beijing site (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CHINA. 15125, Nov 11 at 0013, English narration with music, and voicing-over a bit of Chinese, so it`s CRI via Beijing site for SE Asia but good here, noticed when tuning 15120 for absent CRI relay via Cuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CHINA [non]. 15700, Nov 7 at 1502, CRI English via CUBA is S9/+10 but again, Just Barely Modulated. SAWA RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 15140, Nov 4 at 2019, RHC first English of the day confirmed usual non-DST shift to one UT hour later from 2000, VG S9+20 with OK modulation altho often not (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2059) ** CUBA. 6100, Nov 5 at 0644, RHC English again on this frequency instead of erroneous 5910 23 hours ago, // 6145 and 5040 also on an hour later than in summer, all with OK modulation but 6000 is suptorted. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2059) ** CUBA. 13638 & 13763 approx., Nov 5 at 1433, RHC Spanish extremely distorted FMish spurblobs with F# tones are back! after quite a spell missing, about S9 out of even stronger fundamental 13700. But only trace of further multiples circa 13566, 13826, 13886. Nov 5 at 1520 I blobcheck again: approx. 13763 but much weaker on 13638, while 13700 is S9+10/20 with good modulation. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2059) ** CUBA. 15140, Nov 5 at 1518, RHC `Sonido Cubano` music is ruined by suptorted modulation out of this S9+20; // 15230 is relatively OK, just undermodulated (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 6100, Nov 6 at 0717, RHC English is here but suptorted, yet the only frequency on this late tonight, unlike previous nights. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 6100, Sunday November 8 at 0816, I am unfortunately not fully asleep so check for weekly RHC Esperanto, confirmed in progress here and nowhere else on 49m. Ex-0700 UT during DST. Next broadcast ex-1500 during DST is now from 1602 on 11760 and 15140, as 13700 has just turned off. Opening gives schedule, on 6100 but missed copying the alleged time; 1600 on 11760-only; 2230 on 15730 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 15140, Sun Nov 8 at 1439, `En Contacto` has already started on RHC: not a word from ailing Arnie to be heard, as Marta Ríos reads his script about solar activity, including mailbag acknowledgements, one from February 2020 --- so an old show? One other voice is the AER guy with monthly DX report from Spain, which is about only 3 stations: V of Mongolia, R Clube do Pará, and RAE on 5800, failing to mention that`s a detested WRMI relay; and as always laboriously spelling out p-mail contact addresses. // frequencies on now include 11760, 13740 & 13700 lacking spurs, 15230 suptorted. Something`s always wrong at RHC. For fun, I check the RHC website for B-20 frequency schedule: http://www.radiohc.cu/de-interes/frecuencias Would you believe this is still dated Abril 2016-Noviembre 2016?!?! Something`s very wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) but see below ** CUBA. 11760, Nov 8 at 2323, RHC is S5-S8 and distorted about a pintor, music. Can`t even properly present its #1 legacy frequency. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauer, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 6145 // 6100, Nov 9 at 0733, final playback of Sunday English from RHC achieves two frequencies tonight and decent modulation! Something`s not wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 6100, Nov 10 at 0653, RHC English is suptorted here, but OK on 6145, and 5040 still on; plus 6000 but undermodulated. Now the nominal English hours on 5040 should be 00-01 & 06-07 only. Something`s always wrong at RHC. BTW, the ``African`` hour in English in B-seasons had been at 2200 but I have not hunted for it since that disappeared mid-summer when it was at 2300 on 7380 // 5040 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 13700, Nov 10 at 1345, RHC is not on here but is on 13740. Aoki/NDXC shows 13740 Bejucal at 12-14, and 13700 Bauta at 14-16, but they usually overlap considerably. EiBi agrees with NDXC except puts both in Bauta. No spurs possible with 13700 off, but Mark Coady had some the following hour today (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 5990, Nov 11 at 0010, JBM Spanish, wonder if an RHC program? No, not // 6000, 11760 or 11950 and eventually talking about China, so CRI relay as scheduled; however, no signal on // 15120. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 6000, Nov 11 at 0010, RHC Spanish discussion of US politix, running 5 seconds behind 5025 R. Rebelde, so both are simulcasting the `Mesa Redonda` TV show; also on // 11950 at 0018 only S6 and JBM. But not on any other RHC channel, own Spanish (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. Anomalies from RHC as I start tuning Nov 11 at 1433: spurblob circa 13838, which would be 2 x +69 kHz out of 13700 transmitter, but shortly disappears, and by the time I get to 13700 it is vacant too; and so is 13740. At 1436, I find 15140 also AWOL, 15230 on but undermodulated, 11760 JBA but quickly pops up to S9+10. At *1439, 13700 comes back on at S9, and simultaneously 13740 back too at S9+20: proof that both are from same site, Bauta or Bejucal, only one of which has suffered a power failure. Also on now are the FMish extremely distorted spurblobs out of 13700, with F# telltale tone, ~69 kHz intervals: primaries 13769V noticeably wobbling too, and 13631 S7-S9; second-orders 13562 & 13838; third-order JBA 13493; all still going at 1507 after 13740 is off. Tnx to Jean-Michel Aubier, France who just informed the WOR iog that RHC has finally posted new B20 skeds on its website by language, including English, but not effective until Tuesday November 17: http://www.radiohc.cu/en/de-interes/frecuencias New York 6060 Khz / 49 m 05:00 - 07:00 San Francisco 6100 Khz / 49 m 06:00 - 08:00 Chicago 15140 Khz / 19 m 20:00 - 21:00, 9700 Khz / 30 m 01:00 - 07:00 Washington 6000 Khz / 49 m 01:00 - 07:00, 06:00 - 08:00 Banda Tropical 5040 Khz / 60 m 24:00 - 01:00, 06:00 - 07:00 Africa 11880 Khz / 25 m 22:00 - 23:00 Note reactivation of 6060, NO 6145, NEW 9700, for Washington one frequency 6000 at overlapping times?? Africa service reactivated on a higher frequency for winter (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA [and non]. 5990, Nov 8 at 2317, CRI relay music but modulation is cutting off and on, and when on, it`s distorted. This hour is supposed to be in English, but I check 13650 and hear exactly the same music and cutouts synchronized in the ``Portuguese`` service, so both getting the same defective feed from Beijing. At 2319 I also hear the same music on 6100 but not cutting out, i.e. CRI ``Portuguese`` hour direct from Beijing site. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba too (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA [and non]. 7435 & 7355, Nov 6 at 0722, RM is off, presumably back to temporary extension until 0600* only; but pulse jamming is still running on non-Martí frequencies 7435, 7405, 7365, 7355. Something`s always wrong at the Jamming Command (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** ERITREA [non]. 17545, Sat Nov 7 at 1547-1558* presumed Tigrigna talk and music until chopped off abruptly, checking out the RMI-brokered clandestine via Issoudun, FRANCE, as monitored via UTwente at S8-S9+10. Earlier I had posted on the WOR iog: ``Surprised to see at the end of WRMI schedules page a list of RMI brokered relays including this Eritrean(?) clandestine on Saturdays; anyone know what that name mean? Glenn http://www.tinyurl.com/WRMIfqs Bayto Yiakl USA 1530-1600 EAf Z48 Mul lang ISS 17545 150 kW 4/6/8 ant 120 deg Sat ME`` As I am listening to it, I search out the name, finding: Audio-videos, but from August only https://baytoyiakl.org/user-videos/ https://www.facebook.com/baytoyiakl.usa ``Bayto Yiakl USA – The Only Way Forward --- About Us https://baytoyiakl.org/about-us/ Bayto Yiakl USA is non-profit organization created by Eritreans residing in cities of the United States of America to coordinate the Yiakl popular movement in the United States of America with the vision to build a peaceful, prosperous country, where rule of law, human rights, social justice, values and cultures of all citizens are ensured under the guidance of constitutional democratic principles.`` Then I retrieve discussion about same on the WOR iog:: Ivo Ivanov: ``Radio Voice of Steadfastness / Sawt Al-Somood 1500-1530 on 17545 ISS 150 kW / 120 deg to EaAf Arabic Sat is deleted 1530-1600 on 17545 ISS 150 kW / 120 deg to EaAf Tigrinya Sat`` Kai Ludwig: ``First appeared in December 2018, then no further reports appeared for more than a year. On 1 August I found it by chance again on air. https://baytoyiakl.org/ So now we finally know who produces these broadcasts... Kai`` Dave Kenny: ``This is Bayto Yiakl as per the WRMI schedule. I checked last week and confirmed this ID, (it did not identify as Sawt al Samood last week and appears to be a different station.) 73s Dave`` Alan Pennington: ``There are Eritrean "Bayto Yiakl" organisations in the USA and UK, with websites, Facebook pages e.g. https://baytoyiakl.org/ The "Voice of Bayto Yiakl" programme links from August on this US website show 17545 (kHz?). Translating from Tigrinya, "Bayto" seems to mean "assembly" and "Yiakl" seems to mean "Enough is enough". 73, Alan`` Zacharias Liangas: ``from this page: https://baytoyiakl.org/ti/home-page-%e1%89%b5%e1%8c%8d%e1%88%ad%e1%8a%9b/ as Tigre is not available and using Amharic to Goo translate yields: Bayto Yiakl or ባይቶ ይኣክል yields as "Add a look' ሕቡራት መንግስታት ኣመሪካ (ḥiburati menigisitati amerīka) translates into United States of America - Just for info! Just a report: 17545.04 with open carrier 75/140 dB before 1530 then IDing as “densi atl“ mentioning many times America and Mathias and their tel number, only once I heard Bayto Yaki [sic] Its carrier is wandering in between 100 Hz. Video: https://youtu.be/oQ_ZfnXZ3-Y Included here a photo on how the carrier wanders`` --- Zach More from Kai Ludwig: ``I think Sawt al Samood is Arabic, so would no longer be heard anyway, with all programming being in Tigrinya now? On the other hand transferring a weekly transmission slot from one organization to another already happened with the Rwanda broadcasts from Talata Volonondry. See the text at the start page https://baytoyiakl.org for its references to Ethiopia. This aspect could soon become very topical, there are fears that Eritrea could engage in what happens since three days in Tigray, explicitly called a war by the head of DW Amharic who adds that "one can only hope that Paris, Berlin and London will take notice of it also in the coronavirus winter". https://p.dw.com/p/3kxcC It could be worth to check out the Mekele broadcasting station and its transmission on 5950 kHz via the Addis Abeba (Geja Dera) shortwave plant. This relay seems to be the only possibility to monitor it, unless the footprint of https://de.kingofsat.net/tp.php?tp=12166 (3.720 GHz) does not cut off over southern Europe as the official specification shows. A poor SD relay of the TV programming appears to be relayed on https://de.kingofsat.net/tp.php?tp=408 too, unless this (and of course the original Belintersat feed) are not something completely different. Nothing online anymore, at least not at the dimtsiwoyane.com URL which they let expire. Kai`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** GERMANY. 9669.850, Nov 7 at 1946, JBA music from Channel 292, needs LSB tuning to avoid splash from much stronger 9675 music, Turkish from Sa`udi Arabia. I`m checking it direct only to here. Has been testing with new rotatable hi-gain antenna with 10 kW. Website has detailed skedgrid for 9670 and other frequency programming, but nothing specific here and now. It`s so small that it`s hard to make out the programs, and low-res so zooming it up makes the blurs larger, revealing that most of the 24/7 hours are not yet booked in English and German. The azimuths to around here are 248-293-338, i.e. 45 degrees apart. Can there be any setting between, or only in these 8 steps? Rohrbach is in SE Germany west of Austria, and my NGS globe shows the direxion to Enid is: 308 degrees so we are 15-30 degrees split between. Others have reported same frequency offset within a couple Hz. Seems a little weaker after 2000, maybe beam change. Texas Radio Shortwave planned test to NAm via Channel 292 on 9670v, UT Sun Nov 8 at 0300-0400. At 0253 I start listening via TWR Raleigh NC SDR: some VP music averaging S3; at UTwente S6-S7 but not enough. After 0300 I cannot recognize it as TRSW for sure; still same at Raleigh and UTwente. Nothing here in OK, nor to noisy Maine SDR. Just heard QSL announcement at 0315-0316. Brasil 9665- is much stronger everywhere. Clearly WRMI is preferable for TRSW to here, as tried on 5800, 24 hours earlier, which I reported and QSLed (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) See also USA: WRMI ** IRELAND. 3413-USB, Nov 6 at 0732, VOLMET by YL voice JBA, EiBi-listed Shannon; also San Francisco can use 3413, 24 hours, presumably for intermittent ATC comms (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** JAPAN [and non]. 7445, Nov 10 at 0656, quite a collision here, BBCWS in English until 0659.5*, and something in Japanese at equal level --- one transmitter with double feed, or two? No SAH detectable. B-20 HFCC shows BBC ASCENSION at 0600-0700, but NHK is not supposed to start until 0700! It does keep going solo after BBC quits, timesignal at ToH. This one is 300 kW, 85 degrees direct from Yamata for CIRAF 14 & 16 = Chile, Argentina, most of Uruguay and half of Paraguay & Bolivia, at 0700-0900 UT, i.e. starting at 3 or 4 am local! Are the Japanese immigrant community there known for early-rising? This would be much better suited for Hawaii on the way at 9-11 pm HST! But this morning turned on a bit earlier? Aha, Aoki/NDXC shows *0655, and also that 7445 BBC is *jammed; its 65-degree azimuth across Africa must be intruding into Chicomland, where far too many Mandarins understand English and otherwise would risk corruption by the truth (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** MADAGASCAR. 9515, Nov 10 at 2026-2028*, soft orchestral music, maybe looping as an IS? Good with some flutter. It`s AWR French aimed USward across Africa at 320 degrees from Talata with 250 kW from 2000. 9855, Nov 10 at 2029, open carrier at S9/+10, 2030 NHK World Radio Japon opening in French, somewhat undermodulated. Could be same Talata transmitter just closed on 9515; now it`s 250 kW at 305 degrees (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** MEXICO. 18160-USB, Nov 9 at 1510, 4A50CRH calling QRZ in English with fonetix. I wonder if it`s in common usage outside ham radio and this club to refer to their city/state, as ``Aguascalienteño`` would be rather cumbersome. Rather like in New Lion, they don`t call themselves ``Monterreyanos`` but rather the classier ``Regiomontanos`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NICARAGUA. 8989-USB, Nov 10 at 2327, VP Spanish with predicator exaggerated self-confident intonation, presumed the fisher-preacher in or near Nic waters (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NIGERIA. 7254.9, Nov 6 at 0721, VON is S9 but JBM (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. UNIDENTIFIED, 6934.9-AM, Nov 8 at 2313, JBA carrier, smax of a pirate but none reported in HFU circa 6935 now; and no others on the band altho three hours earlier, Chris Gay in KY was getting three. 6885-AM, Nov 8 at 2316, S8 open carrier, could also be a pirate but none reported; marred by regular pops like an electric fence but only ranging 6873-6894 or so (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTHERN MARIANA ISLANDS. 12125, Nov 9 at 1502, S7-S9 of music and soft talk in uncertain language, but not Chinese jamming. Scheduled is RFA Tibetan via TINIAN this hour only (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** PERU [non]. 5980, Nov 8 at 2316, not even a JBA carrier from R. Chaski, despite no significant Cuban jamming either now that Radio Martí has B-moved to 6125. I am hoping to detect it again this season, but is it even active? Claudio Galaz in Chile used to log it but have not seen anything from him since July. Current Aoki shows Chaski, Urubamba, at 1000-1500 & 2200-0103, but like so much LA info there, may be long outdated. WRTH 2020 almost agreed, 2200-0100 from OBX4M, 5 kW. When last hearing it a few years ago, it was closing earlier, circa 0000? With its timer slipping a few seconds each night. Need to check more, and also via remotes (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** PERU [non]. 5980, further checking for R. Chaski, Nov 9 at 2346: there is a carrier mixed with Cuban pulse jamming, adding up to S9/+10, surely too much to be Urubamba, but what? WORLD OF RADIO 2059 monitoring: confirmed Monday November 9 from 1900:49 on IRRS, 7290 via BULGARIA. As usual via UTwente SDR only, I tuned in earlier to catch the carrier cuton at 1855:39. At 1859:50 a few syllables of some extraneous talk, then canned IRRS ID, with the questionable Milano PO box; 1909:20 `Feature Story News` headlines only, before WOR start. To avoid any internet delays, times here are based on unknown timesignal station on 5000 soon checked on same SDR, with a beep on the minute, but which? Not WWV/H. Suppose it has to be BPM from Xi`an, China; nothing on 4996 from RWM Taldom, Russia. Unfortunately there is as always *very heavy* splash from both sides. When an hour earlier during DST, at least both splatters were 10 kHz away, but now there`s CRI on 7295, as well as Vietnam still on 7280. AMSynch would be preferred for best sound but it cannot escape them no matter how narrowed. So listening on narrow LSB is slightly better than AMS or USB. More unfortunately, the IRRS signal fades down during the WOR semihour making us even more of a challenge to hear. I also hear a WWCR1-style squeal which is likely out of the Secretbrod transmitter. At 1927 toward the end, I also have a lite het from 7288, maybe a ham from Region 2? A bit early for that. WOR ends at 1929:47, IRRS ID and onward, but I fear most listeners would have given up by now. I wonder if it`s this bad all over Europe? It would be nice if IRRS could find a clearer frequency for all the 1900-2000 programs on SW. HFCC shows it could be on any of: 3185, 3195, 3215 or 5050 but normally in winter it`s on 90m only, at first 3215, then switching at 0200 to one of the others, clearing out 3215 for WWCR-1 [someone recently report WWRB much later on 3215, but it had to be WWCR] (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 7505, Nov 10 at 0207, no signal from WRNO, suspect really off rather than awful propagation; nor detectable at Bonaire, 0352 check; while at 0207, 5085, WTWW-2 is a poor S9 direct instead of usual blaster (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1150, Nov 7 at 0702-0735 UT, no sign of KSEN Shelby, Montana DX test. Was not expecting much, as 1150 is dominated here by KSAL Salina KS on nighttime tight N/S pattern, but even with it nulled as much as possible, still no DX sounds or other station readable, just C2CAM from KSAL as I am dozing out and in. KSEN supposed to try DX test again UT Sunday Nov 8 at 07-08 with 10 kW, unclear direxionality (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1150, Nov 8 at 0736 UT, besides KSAL Salina KS, I am hearing Sousa march music, must be the scheduled DX test from KSEN Shelby, Montana. Yes, 0737 very slow Morse Code MCW IDs: VVV DE KSEN, with call repeated so many times I lose count. 0739 sweep tones; 0740 I switch from the DX-398 with internal antenna only somewhat nulling KSAL, to the R75 with E-W longwire where KSAL is more solid, but still hearing underneath, KSEN now with continuous tone. 0742, phone-off-the-hook pulse sounds. So that`s it. As I said, unheard 24 hours earlier, and it turns out that test was deficient at low power. Tonight it`s widely heard from coast to coast at least. Shelby is near Cut Bank, on I-15, only some 35 miles south of Alberta (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VENEZUELA. 6905.9-RCUSB, Nov 9 at 2356, drumming music, but modulation is very defective and crackly, S6-S7 into Bonaire SDR. Toggling the step-tuning in USB, zero-beat seems about 6905.80 but when tuned to 6905.70 in SAM mode, the carrier offset reads out +230v Hz, which adds up to 6905.93. Nov 10 at 0001, automated timecheck and ROCV 6906 ID. Recheck at 0328, still the same distorted modulation (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VIETNAM. 11719.9, Nov 10 at 2320, poor S4 in tonal language; per Aoki/NDXC it`s VOV-1, nominal 11720 from a station replete with offfrequenciness. 12018.8, Nov 10 circa 2317, another longtime cockeyed VOV JBA carrier, scheduled now in Indonesian on rounded `12019` per EiBi but this block of languages absent from Aoki (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** ZAMBIA [non]. 17775-, Nov 9 at 1554, S9/+10 of dead air, or is there some JBM? KVOH, Simi Valley, California, USA, is supposed to start at 1500 on winter weekdays. Recheck at 1601, now I am surprised to hear an ID in English by the well-known voice of Ray Robinson, as ``This is Radio Christian Voice, Lusaka; following program provided by Strategic Communications Group, Ltd.``, and into praise music, not `Frecuencia al Dia` in Spanish. Before I could report this, Ray himself posted to the WOR iog at 1654 UT: ``Due to an equipment failure in the KVOH studio here in California, we are currently relaying Voice of Hope - Africa programming (in English) on the KVOH transmitter, at 17775 kHz. Hopefully this will be for one day only, but you may be interested to hear the anomaly. Ray.`` To which I replied: ``Ray, Yes, I already did, surprised to hear your ``Radio Christian Voice, Lusaka`` ID at 1601 on 17775-, Glenn`` But I wonder why he called it that instead of ``Voice of Hope - Africa`` ? (2)= at least two carriers beating. No DFing on the longwire. This season around this hour, 774 might bear not only RNE Valencia, Spain, today`s LSR 0637; but also NHK Akita, Japan, LSS 0731. What about ABC Melbourne? LSS today not until 0901 UT; latest, two months from now, will be 0946, while Valencia`s latest SR in two months will be 0722, all per gaisma.com. RNE has several synchros on 774, and I usually hear a beat, but 100 kW from Valencia is the mayor (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED.
